[Boxing]Who's the most overrated fighter/boxer(s) right now?[**]

Because GBP are saying they might give him the winner of Shane / Mosley and are serious ...........

 

I have not forgotten. That is one of my arguments when I debate this with friends. You hit the nail on the head of how ordinary Shane was before AM. I have my suspicions about why Shane looked so young in that Margarito fight. I won't say it but if I am correct, Shane will show his age and not be nearly as quick in this fight.

 

People who buy into his hype are easily swayed by belts.

 

Id be suprised if anybody with a half a boxing brain would rate this guy !!!!

 

How can he be overrated if none of the network has headline his fights? lol. They know he sucks.

I'm not sure why people are pegging Katsidis as overrated. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that he's a face-first brawler with fairly limited skills that edges wins based on heart, guts and relentless punching.

His short-handed skills were roundly displayed for all to see against Diaz.

Because of that, he's my favorite fighter to watch right now. Every fight he's in he tries his best to make it a war. There's no quit in him, and I'll cheer for him against anyone regardless of how overmatched he might be. Diaz obliterated him, and I was appalled at how close the scoring was - and I'm a MASSIVE Katsidis fan.

 

just surprised by some on the list. as i think some are underrated apart from by the nughuggers. froch has no skill what so ever, haye doesn't have any chance against either klit, kessler has always been overrated and is past it! as for the rest i didn't think they where rated that highly.

 

I'm using the Ring P4P rankings as my barometer. No sense calling someone out as overrated without mentioning who's actually doing the overrating. Fans really don't count to me because most fans overrate their favorite fighters- which isn't a big deal, that's what fans do.

Ring's supposed to be a relatively unbiased source of info that many fans rely on though, so that's what I'm using. Going by that, the two ones that jump out first as being overrated are Donaire at #5 and Hopkins at #6 on the P4P list.

 

I think i pegged Katsidis more as a dig at the GB fans than the GF , with his up and coming fight with Kevin Mitchell as a hot topic in the GB forum there was / is some pretty silly ratings of Kat kicking around that particular forum , the one thing i have noted from the GF is that his name gets mentioned in high regard as some what of a world class operator , while im not denying Kat belongs in the world's top ranked fighters , you quite rightly point out he's a face first brawler who is extremely limited and against anybody who can box / punch he has a long night , pure boxers you'd have to give Katsidis a chance against any pure boxer in the world @LW if there not packing anything other than scoring shots !!!!

 

I agree i think its a bit daft now that Hopkins belongs on any P4P list TBH ........

Have to agree with you there. Donaire at #5 is ridiculous. So what if he beat Darchinyan. Darchinyan was outboxed by Agbeko. Hopkins? Come on, was there any skill in his last fight? How can Hopkins be ahead of Dawson? Dawson would kill him.
