I had Hozumi up 2-1 going into the 4th, which he was marginally leading until the end. Should've taken a knee; but caught on the ropes, bit like Machen vs Johannson, but far less extreme.
I was starting to think Hasegawa would be taking Montiel out during the 4th. Seemed to be landing anything meaningful he threw.
Well i ****ed up this prediction, i have been on a bit of a roll of late so it's allowed, plus i missed it cos i mis-judged the time differential, i'm a tit! Anyway, thanks for posting it Lee Mc, i'll watch it now.
Crazy fight- round 1- Montiel starts well, i could have given him the round but Hasegawa earned it from me just about because he was working with Montiel throughout and then just anatched it at the end. round 2- Hasegawa has a big round, throwing his shots more than one at a time, which i expected, so Montiel doesn;t get a chance to counter. round 3- Hasegawa looks quality in actually putting Montiel out of his comfort zone by countering his shots, slipping them and hitting Montiel with single accurate ones, which Montiel is used to doing himself, Hasegawa wins the round on generalship. round 4- Montiel tries to tighten his defense up, Hasegawa back to his regular self, Montiel loading up on his shots, BANG
Shouldn;t this fight have some publicity on the main page by now? It should have ****ing huge publicity, this boxing politics bull**** really annoys the **** out of me.
Good fight, feel bad for Hasegawa. He was doing so well in the fight, and if he had taken a knee he might have survived. Still fair play to Montiel
Gutted for Hasegawa who's my favourite fighter but its a heart warming victory for Montiel who was being written off to some degree (by myself among others). Thats the second title fight in succession where a boxer people thought to be on the slide has scored a career best victory, can Mosely do the same?
It's close, basically, the three of them should all carry on fighting each other, and give us the best possible era we could make out of what we have, that would be exciting, and just great for boxing fans who are interested in what's going on today. A rematch between these two would be good, and if Perez wins next time out, he could fight the winner, if they all continue to do well they could just all fight each other. There's no need to forget about fighters just cos they lose,
Anyone understands/can tell what Hasegawa has said in the postfight? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELz4Y8fqxAI[/ame] still a great fighter imo even if he crys like a ***** i hope he will recover well and come back from this but that double haymaker lefthook by Montiel was just great no way Hasegawa had a chance to see that 2nd punch comming.. there was never a unification bout in that division before, if i´m right so Montiel probobly made his way to become a HOFer one day:hey
