Anyone got any good drills? Saw Andy Morris shadow boxing using one the other night... Like the idea and a good way to track progression of punch output... Anyone got any good ideas?

They use metronomes for keeping a steady beat when playing musical instruments.

I've never tried it for boxing training, but I guess it may be a good way to judge your punch output as in 8 punches per quarter note is better than 4 punches per quarter note.

The only problem is that you won't have a metronome during a fight and I am not convinced that it really would make a difference. It might be helpful to develop your own natural rhythm. If you want to judge your punch output during a round, just ask a trainer or training partner to count your punches for you, or just count them yourself.

Don't like the idea bb, to be honest. While I understand what you're saying in regards to gauging output, even if it helps and it likely would, I just don't feel that trade off is worth the potential effect of creating a predictable rhythm.
