Marquez chose Mayweather and Mayweather accepted. But how about when Paul Williams called out Mayweather did Mayweather accept?
Did anyone really think Marquez had a chance against Mayweather (be honest) esp. at that high of a weight?

Your correct that the fight is somewhat of a mismatch. Floyd would have ripped Mosley just as hard if they met 5 years ago. Any other fight Floyd signs in the present will be about the same as this one. His style is terrible for Pac. Everyone who is waiting for Pac to kill their sworn enemy is up for disappointment. As far as Marquez slipping he scooped up a young strong titlist and walked through him like he was made of swiss cheese after taking everything he could dish out. Your correct, a performance that clearly shows Marquez is shot. Do me a favor and please tell me who you want him to fight besides Pac, who made himself unavailable.

I guess Floyd needs to fight Wlad so you can see the outcome you need.

Again how about Mike Jones-he is rated is he not.

If Floyd was so sure of victory against Pac then he would have fought him wouldn't he?Would have been for a hell of alot more money then the Shane bout?Funny didn't see Mayweathers father who was training Hatton for his bout with Pac request random drug tests-hell Uncle roger didn't say a thing either in the 24/7 Hatton-Pac feature about Pac being on drugs-matter of fact don't seem to remember Floyd ever mentioning it UNTIL Pac challenged him.
Marquez was a good fighter that had horrible mangement. He took a alot of flush shots against Diaz that he normally would have blocked/slipped-I've watched Marquez for years and he isn't as good as he once was-we get older and we loose certain things so don't even say the Marquez bout was a great win for Floyd because it was Marquez trying to secure a big payday-and again I'll ask you-did you feel that Marquez had any chance when they made that fight with Mayweather?

Not really, neither does Pac. Pac didn't want the fight, plain and simple. If the fight never happens it will be because Pac's people are smart enough to keep him from a career destroying one sided loss. When all is said and done The fight will get made because the money is there. After the fight you will need a new hobby, starting asinine threads about Mayweather will have lost its appeal. As far as Marquez eating a few punches from Diaz WTF do you expect, Diaz throws in an incredible volume and has touched everyone he has fought. It worked out just fine for Marquez, I think the crowd was much more concerned than he was considering how he walked through Diaz.

Williams had to unneccesarily go up in weight, he didn't get to big for the division, he had to leave to get real fights after he got his belt and was blackballed by Top Rank, GBP, and whoever the hell Berto is with.

From what I hear the guy still walks around at 156 - 158, so he probably can still make WW. He has challenged all 147 belt holders and he has no takers yet, but then again it would be scarry for all of them since this is the same man with open challenges to all 147 champs, the undipusted MW champ, and the consensus #1 Jr. MW champ.

When I look at Williams ,he's very good fighter and I like him alot ,his only drawback is his defense and Floyd can't make 154...not right now and if Williams keeps back and forth through weight classes ,it only going to mess him up in the long run....you lose power sooner or later. If Mayweather fights Williams at 147 ..PPW loses....and come May 8 if Williams loses they will never fight ever....Williams needs to work on defense ,he gets hit every fight badly or suffer some kind of cut in his recent fights and once you get cut twice in the same area it never heals properly..(EVER)...No defense ..could be fatal in his future fights.

Did you ever see Marquez when he was coming up?He would have boxed Diaz ears off and then stopped him without taking alot of flush shots.
The Pac-Mayweather fight was shut down by MAYWEATHER idiot not Pzc remember. And Mike Jones for the 3rd time.

Floyd made 154 for Oscar De La Hoya when he was smaller, why can't he make it now. Also why does he have to go to 154, when Paul will come to 147.

Are you trying to say Mayweather should have picked Mike Jones over Mosley? Seriously?

The reason why the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight didn't happen is because Manny didn't want to be tested. Can you give a real reason why Pacquiao didn't want the testing? If Floyd feels Manny might be on something he has the right to ask for extra testing which he did. Other people outside of Team Mayweather also believe Pacquiao might be on something. There was a quote on this site the other day where someone said a lot of people feel this way.

5 Years ago Floyd would have won this be an early KO (TKO - cuts)

It will be a little more difficult this time.

His time out hurt him badly.

    Mosley is lucky/cheat.

The Pac Mayweather fight was shut down by team Pacquiao, the contradictory statements throughout negotiations and the actions after the fight fell through have made this very clear.

The boxing community were adamant that Mayweather fight Mosley after the Pac fight fell through, had he fought an up and comer like Jones he would have been ridiculed.

There is ample amounts of smoke being blown up the boxing fans assholes.

Nobody really understands that Margarito was loading his gloves since probably the Johnson fight. That helped create his aura leading up to the Mosley fight which was zapped entirely prior to the opening bell.

The only gauge we have to go on is the Cotto-Mosley fight where Cotto was able to control Mosley with a limited number of punches, a stronger defense than usual and ring intelligence.

Cotto is good at that. Mayweather is great at that. Should be a very wide UD for Mayweather.
