If Mayweather defeated Manny Pacquaio and wins the middleweight title I believe he belongs in the top 15 of all-time. This would make Mayweather the first world champion to win a title under lighweight to have won a piece or the lineal middleweight title...thats history and true pound for pound stuff. Its possible he could pull it off, but Martinez' size and speed and southpaw style would troble Mayweather Mightily.

Beating Martinez at 160 for the titles would be great. I'd say top 15-20.

Then why are you on a boxing debate-forum if you hate talking about possible hypothetical situations? Why don't you do us all a favour and **** off then Luke?

All time greatest, if he beats everyone in his era and retires without a defeat then theirs a solid case he is the greatest off all time, at the end of the day records are their to be beat, if Floyd retiring undefeated beating everyone in his era is not enough to suprass SRR or ALI, then how is anyone in the future going to suprass them, I think Floyd as close as it gets. He could hold his own against any fighter from any era.

I think Floyd will be appreciated more years later. Too many people hate him right now. He'll go down as an ATG top 10-15 type guy.

the WBO at junior lightweight and the WBO at middleweight(in a fight he argably lost) doesnt qualify). I dont recognize the WBO as a legit world championship, also at the time Bernard Hopkins was the recognized world champion. Mayweather was lineal junior lightweight champion and beating Martinez would make him lineal middleweight champion.

I think it would make him the first man to be lineal champ at lightweight and middleweight but ODLH and Duran have both been lightweight and middleweight champs, actually. I'd call Mayweather a top twenty probably if he did both those things.
