he should fight stieglitz, then he has two titles and we would get a unification for all titles after the super six

 

Pavlik - Been exposed and run down by Bhop and Martinez
Bhop - Old and might be fighting Calzaghe again
Bika - A rematch would look good but hes beaten him once, why do it again?
Brinkley - Never Heard of him
Stielglitz - Highly Possible Unification bout. Stielglitz gets beaten worse than Lacy
Dirrell - Tied up in the super six
Dawson - Tied up with Pascal
Martinez - Moved up from 154 and doubt hed be moving up again anytime soon
Sherington - Who?

 

B-Hop is a low risk/high reward fight. If there isn't a B-Hop/Calzaghe rematch in the pipeline, that would be an option. Although it has been confirmed it would be on in Romania and I don't know if Hopkins would be cool with going into Bute's back yard.

 

They want to do his next fight in romania on July 24th, so I don't think they will pull a big fight there...Stieglitz won't leave Germany to fight the most second most popular sport Romania ever produced (first is Nadia Comanicci (not sure about the spelling ), Pavlik, nobody sees the point anymore, Martinez, he's to light, he would get crushed by the bigger, as fast as him Bute, B-Hop will only fight in USA, Bika and Brinkley will just be coming out of their eliminatory fight, Dirrrell won't be out of the S6 yet, Dawson is already sceduled to fight Pascal in august, so....Sherington maybe ??? I may like to see him fight Jean Paul mendy but he already has a fight on june 26th...maybe giving Karoly Balzsay a chance would proove a smart move...who else are in the top 15 of the IBF that he hasn't already beaten ? 6-Curtis Stevens, 13-Sébastien Demers, 14-Brian Magee, 15-Joseph Kwadjo.....Stevens just got beaten by Brinkley for the IBF second spot, Demers doesn't the level to make a competitive fight, McGee COULD be a good choice, comming from a big victory over Mads Larsen, and Kwadjo, wait.........WHO ? hum.....maybe if he beats ONE name at 168, but not now....so it leaves ? Sherington, Balzsay and Magee !!! OH I almost forgot, he hasn't been back in the ranking since his big defeat with Abraham....Jermain Taylor ! he could be a good choice to !!!

But for the fight afer that ? hum...Stieglitz on a neutral ground, maybe in the US...B-Hop at 168 in the US or in Montréal, or Bika 2, that will be his mandatory on may 28th...Pavlik would definitly nedd a good win to deserve a championship fight at 168...

Hopkins would be pounded into retirement. It could very well happen though. It would be a big money for Bute who hasn't a world of great available opponents right now.

 

Fight will be in Romania. Since there's no unification, I doubt HBO will buy, and that pushes the budget down significantly. My guess - either Jean Paul Mendy or Brian Magee (who's not ranked, but who he could defend against as Euro champ).

The other name I've heard thrown around is Chris Henry, at 175. Henry's fought in Romania before, so he makes some sense, and Bute fought about half of his career at 175.

No way most of those people go to Romania.

Pavlik - coming off a loss, and Arum doesn't put his guys in tough fights coming after a loss (other than the occasional rematch)

Hopkins - not going to Europe

Bika and Brinkley - fighting each other to become Bute's mandatory, but the fight isn't far enough away that the winner could fight again in July.

Stieglitz - Already turned down a career high payday for the fight

Dirrell - in the Super Six

Dawson - Has said he's not going to Europe to fight, and has a fight already signed with Pascal

Martinez - Can make bigger money fights than this one, and will need to - he won't have the title for too long probably, and the dude's already 35

Sherington - a possibility I suppose, but he's even less of a name than the other guys I mentioned above.

Bring on Pavlik, if he wants to move up, and his fight night weight suggested he should not fight at 160 anymore, here's the chance to take on one of the top guys at 168, also the big chance for Bute for a possible US breakthrough. High risk, but high reward for both, so why not?

Well, I don't know a lot of romanian outside of the boxing world, so I gusee my argument doesn,t make sense when I speak with someone that knows more than me about Romania. But to the commun person ? Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Bute's is more known around the world...but again maybe I'm wrong

 

Magee is ranked 14th by the IBF.
