I picked shogun the first time and I will also pick him in the rematch.

With how the 1st fight went, machida will look to be more cautious than ever in the upcoming fight refusing to engage, which will make him all the more ineffective. I see minor adjustments on machida but at some point in the fight he would probably go back to his shell and be on defensive mode again... it's just his style you know....

the aggressor gets the nod this time..

I watched the fight again yesterday. It is hard to give Machida rounds. He isn't comfortable in any round. His rhythm and flow was disrupted early on and he never got it back again. This is one of those cases that the state of his face, ribs and leg tell the story.

the person who has room for adjustments is Machida. Shogun fought as good as he could fight and I believe Machida didn't take him as serious as he should have. I see Machida making necessary adjustments, fighting more aggressive on the attack, and stopping machida.

I think it's actually Machida that wont be able to adjust to Rua again. Machida tries to force the opponent to commit, and then he counters and moves, controls the distance.

Shogun should have the same strategy. Destroy the legs from the outside to take away Machida's mobility, and finish up this time with takedowns this time to seal the victory since the UFC's *** rules score craploads of points for takedowns, and maybe none for strikes, unless your one of the favorites.. I think the statistics had Shogun leading Machida in strikes landed something like 2 or 3 to 1.

If he simply beats his ass standing again, out lands him in every category and clearly inflicts more damage, he will likely lose by decision unless he knocks Machida out.

Intriguing match this one. i thought Rua edged the first but I am going to go with Machida by TKO or KO in the second.

Rua fought great last fight and Machida only good. However I think there were some warning signs for Rua in that fight. If Machida works on that straight counter and starts to bring more elbows and knees this will help deal with Rua. Rua got under that counter enough to last the previous time - I think Machida would have worked on trying to catch him out this time.

Machida, their first encounter aside, is usually the more consistent. He's also a very intelligent fighter and won't have come away not learning anything.

I'm not saying Rua can't make adjustments of his own, but my feeling is that Machida finds a way to win a decision safely. This will be one of those rematches that isn't as exciting.

I really want shogun to win but i think machida will get the W. I want shogun to win cuz i've been following him since his pride days and he is a beast when 100%.

Machida is a good defensive fighter who has the power to knock you out but i like shogun style better. If he was the champion i think we will see more brutal KO type of fight than with machida.

I really like to see shogun fight rampage-thiago silva or evans next. You know that will be a brutal fight.

Machida got very settled into his potshotting straight fighting style. He came across a dynamic fighter like Shogun and paid the price. His neurosystem was tuned to his style and he couldn't make the adjustments. Machida is a dynamic striker, with good stand up and ground grappling. I expect him to use his hooks, uppercuts and trips more. His has more to his game then he showed.

Not only that but Shogun is a DEVASTATING striker. You could HEAR his kicks. 4 or 5 of those and you are affected for the whole fight so even if you want to adjust you are physically sub par.

Machida will take this one and decisively, maybe by KO.
