If he could not stop Kotelnik I dont see him stopping Paulie, unless he has suddenly discovered power that we dont know about, against a fighter that as someone rightly said has operated in world class level on and off since losing a decision to Cotto. A late stoppage is a valid bet, if he is showing signs of gaining power. He can of course walk through Paulie, as he could not break an egg.
i had a fight with a kid in school once and beat him comfortably on points before being seperated by our **** of a geography teacher (who to be honest only interveened in my opinion to have an excuse to be close to younger boys, but back to the point) This same kid now is about 7 inches taller than me and at LEAST 5 stones heavier. Just coz i beat him once don't mean i would beat him again. The fat ****. Cotto had a hard fight with paulie for sure, but he bust paulie up worse than ricky did in the end, but ricky got the stoppage, and cotto didn't. Cotto stopped judah, mayweather didn't, but most people would agree that mayweather would deal with cotto. All these he beat him so he should beat this guy means **** all. It is what happens on the night. There are good supporting theories why pac would beat pbf and vice versa, but previous form is out of the window. It is like with football when commentators say west ham haven't beaten liverpool at anfield since the battle of hastings. Doesn't mean that it wont happen some day. stats only tell you what has happened in the past, not what is going to happen. rant over
you missed a line out there... it goes like this... ... ''he got whooped by margarito who in turn got butchered by mosley WHO IN TURN GOT ****ED UP BY COTTO!!''... ...did ya intentionally miss that out just to make yourself sound a tiny bit logical? kinda bolloxed it up for you there didnt i?!
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTE8zqTeIEE[/ame] here it sounds like he is saying it will be a tough fight... not as easy as taking him out in 3
trust me it's going to be easy work, I never used to be a fan of Khan because he was overated, but once he lost and went to wildcard gym and cameback against Oisin ***an, I could see a completely different fighter in Khan with a tighter defence and since then he has been impressive, Malignaggi is not a threat its an introduction fights in america, I can't see him loosing this.
Khan has indeed improved substantially, he's much technically better and we're beginning to see a bit more versatility in his work now - feints, angles, more educated offence. Still, there are several problems with him fighting Malignaggi. 1. Paulie has the better jab. 2. Paulie has at least as good feet as Khan. That means Khan's going to struggle to get off. He may be bigger than P.M., but he's not facing a stationary target (Kotelnik) or a defensive wreck (Salita). This is a real tough opponent who can match him from the outside and has good mobility, defence and speed. If Khan gets past Malignaggi I'll give him real credit.
Will take Kahn a couple of rounds to find his range so i cant see it happening, will be interesting to see how kahn will cope with paulies speed and footwork.
No-one is saying that khan hasn't improved since going to the wildcard, but the point is that up until now this is going to the first actual fight where he fights a genuine gate keeper, and paulie will provide the true acid test for khan. The only thing lacking for paulie is power in this fight. He moves well, has a technically sound jab, is not sluggish. He will not be a sitting duck for khan. If you genuinely think that paulie is not a threat regardless of how the fight turns out you need to re-watch him fight cotto.
So you dont consider Kotelnik even a gate keeper? ? Does beating Maidana, Pushing a prime Witter and Mbaye to the limit and getting robbed, and beating seven shades of **** out of Rees not count for anything? There is a reason he is being talked of as Devon Alexanders next opponent.
I suppose i do consider kotelnik a gate keeper also, but paulie is a step up due to his level of opposition. Don't get me wrong i am not taking anything away from kotelnik. But i fell paulie is more of a guy you need to beat to show you are ready for that next level
