Thats your opinion. I cant see any other ww fighter from the past making it look any easier than Floyd did.

Would it be fair to say other Welters have had it harder at the weight?

Absolutely, but every fighters record can be picked to pieces. In the years gone by fighters fought much more often and therefore had more tough bouts but as far as raw ability goes I just have Floyd at the top, Sweet Pea a very close second ( you can see the style of fighter I like showing through lol )

Sweet Pea; ability proven against a better calibre of opposition. As you're a fan, how can you justify having Floyd higher.

In a matchup between the two, I consider it basically unwinnable for Floyd. Pea has the better jab, can fight really well on the inside as well as out, had a great chin, and will make up for his lesser handspeed (in comparison to Floyd) with his allround game being far superior.

    IMO :good

i'd rate DLH higher just because he took on anyone from the start to end of his career and you cant exactly argue with his achievments

I disagree with the modern era starting in 1980. I would say nearer 1880

So are you basing your opinion of mayweather solely on his exploits at welter?

    Sorry to butt in but..

That is god awful. The guy either knows very little about some of the fighters or is acting like an idiot, really surprised Graham Houston would put his anme to this.

'Faster', maybe so. But Napoles was much quicker at going from defence to offence. 'Better jab', very debateable, Napoles jab was superb and he was very busy with it. Mayweather neglects his jab.

Also what the **** is that about Ernie Lopez, he bears no stylistic comparison to Mayweather, and ina rematch he was destroyed after Napoles took him lightly. Add in the fact Napoles beat him twice and Lopez was one of the best contenders of the day.

Napoles would be keeping Mayweather busy with his jab and coming in with those hooks and uppercuts of his. Sure Mayweather can get some counters in but Napoles is pretty slick himself. Napoles UD

I agree with this. He has the physicallity and the mind-set to back Mayweather up pin him on the ropes and punish him. Sure he is going to be hit and perhaps a fair bit but he is going to be imposing himself on Mayweather the whole fight. Basilio UD.

    :lol::lol:

Mayweather IMO lacks the drive for this. He would stay on the outside abit too much and not be busy and allow himself to be stuck on the end of Hearns jab. If you think of the Benitez bout with Hearns, well Mayweather is a slightly lesser Benitez IMO. Hearns UD possible stoppage from a big right.

    OK!

    This is quite odd.

Mayweather as the stronger man in the ring, but he is a small Welterweight and Duran proved his strength against strong welters like Palomino and Leonard. Also comparisons with Leonard, since when has Maywether ever boxed that mobile at Welterweight?

Duran is equally as skilled also, especially at countering. He wins this fight.

Cant even be arsed thinking about this.

    'Mayweather's equal'
    'Marvelous match'
    'prevail, if barely'

    Brilliant in-depth anaylisis here.

Really this is laughable. Mayweather was at his best at Super-Featherweight and he is being compared with ATG Welters and winning. :patsch
