Having watched the Mayweather-Mosley fight I think it was a brilliant performance by Floyd but for me it wasn't as great as his performance vs Diego Corrales in what was a punch-perfect performance.

So which fight do you lads think Mayweather produced his best performance in?

De La Hoya. Close fight, but the most 'live' opponent he has faced in hindsight.

Corrales was not in a good place when Floyd beat him, and not a 'great' fighter by any means,

Hernandez was a VERY good win though.

Hernandez (Genaro) was a good performance also, better than the Oscar one imo. Though it depends how much you factor the adaptation mid-fight into how you rate the perfromance, it's all subjective.

    :huh

    2003: Outpointed by Mosely

    2004: -Gift against Sturm
    -Stopped by Hopkins

    2006: TKO Mayorga

2007: 34 years of age, SD loss

What he went on to do:

    -UD Forbes
    -Get beaten up by Pacquaio

    Back to the topic:

    Hatton was a decent win

You say all that and go for Hatton:lol:

The fact of the matter is, that Floyd was at junior middle for the first time, De La Hoya put on a good showing and Floyd edged him. If Oscar was as bad as you say, what does that say of Floyd as it was such a close fight?!?

I've been coming round to the DLH win as well lately.

I'm not so sure any of the other welters around at the time could have moved up and beat him - Cotto wouldn't, Margarito wouldn't have either.

In hindsight he didn't really turn out to be great, but wasn't Corrales being touted as a beast at the time, like a super-featherweight Tommy Hearns? Pretty sure he was ranked in the top 5 in the Ring's P4P list, not that that particularly means much I know. Valid point about the personal problems though.

He was, but I never bought into the hype. From the pre-fight footage I think it's clear Chico was struggling at the weight.

As I say; Chico doesn't beat Floyd in a series of ten IMO. But, I think the circumstances made him easy pickings for Floyd, and therefore made him look even better.

Was Chico a betting favourite? It's a quality win and performance imo, of course Floyd is always going to beat him, but i just don;t see how that's a bad thing for Floyd, he's better and at a style advantage, so what. Casamayor had a style advantage and Corrales gave a much better account of himself there. Corrales, regardless of deficiencies, was a top fighter of the era.

Still not a win to propel him into the upper echelon IMO

Who's saying that though Flea? I've got to say i think this is a problem, nobody is saying anything like that here.

According to the HBO pre-fight coverage, Floyd was a narrow betting favourite.
