Now that the fight has been confirmed in the summer by Dana White.... if 'lights out' wins will it finally put an end to that MMA vs Boxing debate over which is better for good?

    You tell me....

Most likely Toney will be seriously embarrassed.

Toney is a natural fighter, and could have made a decent MMA fighter...........if he'd started young, trained hard and fought in his prime.

He's fat, old and punchdrunk now. His most effective weapon is his gutter mouth. Most likely Toney will end up a vegetable as he seems determined to continue fighting no matter what. It's all he knows.

Coulture will have Toney on the deck in 5 seconds flat and that will be the end of the fight.

Toney has ONE CHANCE to hit Colture as he comes in for the first time. If he misses that he's ****ed.

What would it prove? That MMA and boxing are completely different sports with different skill sets?

People enjoy them both, leave it at that.

IF he did it would be an embarassement to MMA. Toney is foolish for doing this though as its obvious Dana has lined him up to score some points on boxing so whenever the debate comes up it will always be well look what happened to Toney....

Ray Mercer destroyed Tim Sylvia so it would be nice if James could repeat the feat but hes old and fat slow and past it. RC will probably try and take him down and thats going to be that - with a choke or an armbar or something - no with half a brain will pay much attention to it its next to meaningless

The big difference is that Sylvia is a stand up MMA fighter who likes to throw punches, it was a great style for a boxer to face.

Toney-Colture is a bad style match up for the boxer because Coulture is a wrester.

It would certainly be a major embarrassment, but the only person likely to get embarrassed is going to be Toney.

Toney does have a wrestling background i think...but as said Couture will try take this to the ground. Couture normally uses dirty boxing but he'd be a fool to strike with Toney.

Once Toney's on his back it will be ground and pound and maintain side control or whatever they talk about.

edit:Sorry lads can't back up that fact about Toney wrestling.
