personally, i don't think it's nothing to do with floyd being so good as i believe it's a habit. floyd has used this now since early in his career, and it'll be hard just to change a situation that easy.
Forearm, He had trouble w castillo because the ref took it away and he didnt know what to do on inside w out it. But he needs that in the throught man how else is he gonna make you tired?
I've mentioned this in another thread, he also bends over below the waist to avoid being taken advantage of when he makes an error or when his opponent comes on strong. Like the elbow tactic it's illegal but he seems to get away with it everytime.
. That's part of being the best... Michael Jordan used to get away with lots of fouls because he was the best.... it's beneficial. Being the greatest......
AGREED HE DOES HUH!:good TOO BAD NOBODY DOIN NOTHING ABOUT IT... FLOYD SHOULD HAVE HAD A POINT TAKEN AWAY ON SAT NIGHT THOUGHT IT WOULD JUST BE ACADEMIC IF IT WAS... BUT YEA MAN IF FLOYD GETTIN AWAY WITH IT N THE OPPONENTS CORNER ISNT CALLING FOR IT CUZ THEY WANNA BE "MANNISH" THAN THATS ON THEM..I BELIEVE RICHARDSON SHOULDA POINTED THAT OUT BUT HE DIDNT UNTIL BETWEEN THE 11TH AND 12TH
My favorite thing about this thread is that none of the **** people are complaining about Floyd doing is even a listed foul in Nevada, which means it is at the refs discretion to call what he likes: From the Nevada Athletic Commission's list of fouls in boxing: 1. Hitting below the belt. 2. Hitting an opponent who is down or is getting up after being down. 3. Holding an opponent with one hand and hitting with the other. 4. Holding or deliberately maintaining a clinch. 5. Wrestling or kicking. 6. If the referee has signaled that the opponent has been knocked out, striking an opponent who is helpless as a result of previous blows and so supported by the ropes that he does not fall. 7. Butting with the head or shoulder or using the knee. 8. Hitting with the open glove, the butt of the hand, the wrist or the elbow, and all backhand blows. 9. Purposely going down without being hit. 10. Striking deliberately at that part of the body over the kidneys. 11. Deliberately using the rabbit punch. 12. Jabbing the opponents eyes with the thumb of the glove. 13. Using abusive language in the ring. 14. Engaging in any unsportsmanlike trick or action which causes injury to an opponent. 15. Hitting on the break. 16. Hitting after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat. 17. Hitting an opponent whose head is between and outside of the ropes. 18. Pushing an opponent about the ring or into the ropes. Show me, please, where "ducking below the waist" or "pushing with the forearm" is listed in there. If it's not listed as a foul it's not a foul unless the ref decides it is. And generally, unless Floyd puts it right in the guys throat, the refs don't consider it a foul because creating distance on the inside with your shoulder, or forearm, or gloves is just part of fighting on the inside. Unless a boxer is actually striking the other guy with their forearm, or attempting to choke him, it's pretty much fair play.
As illegal as holding. Not that big a deal. But it doesn't prevent some infighting, ref should take a point if gets excessive.
This is not illegal. Repeat after me, THIS IS NOT ILLEGAL. At best you will find crouching below the waist listed in some Commission rules, or ducking low for a protracted period, but I'd be shocked if you could find the phrase "ducking below the waist" listed in any major boxing authorities rules. It's certainly not in Nevada's, where Floyd routinely fights.
