I'll have to go with Havana on that one chief! The auld tropical climate encourages the senioritas to keep the clothing minimal. It hasn't been above 20 degrees celcius in Belfast since the great chip pan fire of 61'
Off to see John O'Donnell on the Murray-Buckland undercard this evening. I'll be back with photos, pictures, snapshots, videos, interviews, photos, photos and articles tanite! :good
Newry's as far north as I've made it! Too cheap to pay big money in the Belfast hotels, took the mot to Mullingar instead :hey
No better buachaill Slappy. :thumbsup Lads do any of ye know if Steward will be back in the corner for Lee's fight or will Gamache be stepping in again? I'm assuming he'll be doing HBO work for the Khan fight. I had to buy a ticket to for one of my non-interested-in-boxing mates so I don't look like a Billy no mates at the fight! Bunch of eejits I pal with don't know whats wrong with em .
Andy Murrays opponent for the 15th May: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=397612&cat=boxer Coley Barretts opponent: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=75790&cat=boxer Alan Donnellan is still the only one not to be matched up yet.
-------------------------------- 2 years ago I'd agree but you can get a 4 star hotel in Dublin 4 for 50 Euro a night and it's a short ride from Dublin Airport to the City. I'd say any Germans or Brits would be happy to pay that. Nightclubs not charging more then 10 Euro and some are free before 12 pints a little dear but not as bad as they used to be......
Ah go on then you've convinced me to take the long trek to the King's Hall for McCloskey :nut Pics going up on Facebook now Carlos.
http://espn.go.com/sports/boxing/no...ams-taking-all-comers-starting-kermit-cintron Saw this on the British Forum. What do ye think lads? Not a world title shot but still, tough opponent and a good way for Mack the Knife to make a name for himself state side. Kind of glad Winky turned down the fight, his reach and jab could have given the short Mackin some serious problems. Hopefully it will be confirmed soon, great undercard indeed.
The Eubanks-Close bill was a cracking bill altogether. Carruth made his pro debut, an argentine world champ called Vasquez (think that was his name), Frans Botha had a fight, Gerry Coetzee and tony tucker fought too. Ray Kane was fighting when jack charlton made an appearance and had to be moved to the VIP bar as he was being surrounded and no-one was watching poor Rays fight. Clifton Mitchell was on the bill too and had a horrible midget with him who wouldnt shut up talking, turned out to be Naseem Hamed before he hit the bigtime. Dr Pacheco was there for the American tv as well, and Don King himself. When Tucker and Coetzee fought,it was at the end of the night and barely a few hundred stayed to watch it. Only in ireland could 2 ex-heavyweight champs be on a bill and nobody stay to watch. Also remember hugh russell stealing mcGuigans thunder one night when he beat a tough welsh guy called kelvin smart in a great wee scrap that a lot though hugh would be KO'd in.
Jesus, i couldnt tell ya mate. I was about 13yr old myself. Your probably right cos most of them bills were sponsered by Smirnoff so there would have to be gargle somewhere. I remember a few years later there was a bar for the VIPs, at the eubank-close fight, out the back beside the fighters changing rooms cos me and a mate got 12btls of Miller each off the barman and told him to put it on Don Kings account, which, after himming and haaing, he unbeleivabley fell for. Ha!
