Fair enough but... As to Margarito's 'intentions', you're taking the line that many have voiced in that you're presuming that Margarito was aware of what Capetillo was doing. Again, Margarito is on record that he wasn't aware of what Capetillo did exactly and Capetillo is on record that he was solely responsible for what happened.
Now, if you just don't buy that argument, that's fine. However, if you share one of the opinions going around that Margarito should've been punished more severely or even banished for life like in the Resto case, then you'd have to agree that actually using 'loaded gloves' in a fight might support that position more.
In my opinion, there's just too much speculation going on--and, sorry to say, that's what you're doing--and not enough evidence to support that line of thinking.

Interesting screenplay. You should pitch that to Hollywood.

The suggestion that Margarito wouldn't know the difference between regular wraps and loaded wraps is preposterous. I'd have more respect for him if he owned up to cheating.

The suggestion that Margarito only tried to cheat once in his career, against an apparently-washed-up Mosley, but not against young-lion Cotto (among others) is equally absurd.

Margarito was my favorite fighter up until that Mosley fiasco... And it's true that he'll be heavily scrutinized from this point on...

Interested to see how he comes back and how he fights against this Garcia dude...

Great point, but you could look at that both ways. I remember Lennox Lewis giving his opinion on this and saying there's no possible way you will not know, or feel that your wraps are loaded. In another words, YOU HAVE TO KNOW. Yet, wasn't the traces of the plaster found on the gauze, not on the wrap? I'm not defending Margarito, but if this is the case, he would of had less chances of actually knowing he might of been loaded. And like you stated, it doesn't make sense even if he knew why he would load for Mosley, but not for Cotto? There is the possibility he really didn't know.

He should be banned for life,if he knew ANYTHING about these handwraps, witch i think he did.
But he is back, and i hope he will loose... He could have hurt Mosley for life if he fought that fight with loaded gloves for **** sake!!!
I have no respect for him anymore at all... he is a scumbag

He's a ****ing cheat plain and simple !!!! Anyone that thinks otherwise is an idiot. How the hell you dont know you got plaster in your gloves ? He knew they were in there and now acting all innocent like he didn't know. There will always be that question " Did he use plaster for all of his fights ? " which none of us know but i wouldn't be surprise if he did.

    1. Lennox is right, you know what's going on.

    2. The odds of it being a one-off are so incredibly small that they're not worth considering. If he did it once, we can be sure he did it more than once.

I have to assume he did know and that he's done it for a number of fights at least. If, as he said, he REALLY didn't know, then how would he know he wasn't cheating in prior fights? If he didn't know his wraps were loaded the night of Mosley, it stands to reason he may not have known other nights as well. So... either he knew and cheated, or he didn't know and probably cheated also. I'll go with the easy answer, that he's a liar.
