It has nothing to do with Oscar. The Ring Magazine rankings have ALWAYS been a joke. At least they aren't as corrupt as in the '70s when they actually used non-existant made up fights to change the ranking of Don King's fighters. :deal
Maybe you should be attacking The Ring Magazine's voting panel: 38 boxing writers from around the world, of which 3 are Ring Magazine employees. This content is protected
Yes, ideally what they would do is have a panel of independent boxing experts and journalists come up with their rankings, to avoid any appearance of impropriety. Oh wait...
It's much easier to go in with the theory that DLH has corrupted and biased The Ring and then twist the facts to fit your theory. You know how tricky it is to actually impartially look at the facts and then develop a conclusion based on them?
I agree, don't really rep Lopez or Gamboa, just appreciate that both guys are exciting as hell to watch. That being said, Gamboa destroys Lopez. Badly.
ESB Rankings are the best. Vote on our top 10 P4P pole. 1 day to go http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=224150
it's the american boxing writers that are going downhill dramatically. all they seem to be doing is hating on top skillful boxers while in laugh with come forward fighters who take alot of punishment. **** them. they don't know jack**** about boxing.
No Chris John is the WBA world champion. Gamboa has a sad joke of a title. And that guy that Lopez went life and death with is a 122 pounder and weighed that when he fought Gamboa. And sadly that might be his best win.
Rumors said back then if no Golden Boy, The Ring was about to shut down due to **** sales. It is very hard for specific printed magazines to survive in the internet age and The Ring probably didn't have the kind of money to produce and market a major and popular website.
I'd like to add that Donaire now at number four and Chris John not even there...they shouldn't be taken seriously. And as much as I like him, Shane being at three last week was the most self serving horse **** I have seen in a while. Days, in fact.
