Definitely. Oscar was a very stiff fighter, as good as he was.

    Sweet Pea was better offensively.

No it's not, Calderon fits the description, whether he's good enough ot not. Toney doesn't even fit the description, regardless of how good he was at what he did.

Depends on what you mean by "pure boxer", I guess.

Someone with footwork at least, maybe i'm being a bit specific but Toney's exclusively a counter-puncher the way i see it, as in technically amazing from the waist up and those who are good from the waist down are his kryptonite. A pure boxer to me is someone like Howard Winstone.

Yes. Mayweathers skills are just wonderful. I just wish he would unload a bit more.

That doesn't mean he wasn't technical. What's untechnical about slipping punches? Whitaker always positioned himself in the correct way when slipping punches and blocked shots in a pretty textbook way as well. Ray Leonard used athletic ability; it doesn't mean he wasn't a technician.

:rofl With his lesser jab, much more limited punch variety, marginal work-rate, and comparable power? The only offensive edge Mayweather has is faster hands, and even that's deceptive.

But learning the shoulder roll is easy?

    He makes plenty of mistakes.

what fights were u watching? the fights that "floyd" runs are the ones he was injured. carlos henredez, castillo I and baldomir. Floyd fights more in the pocket than run.

Toney lacks the mobility and footwork to be in consideration here.

Yeah, there's a lot of pure boxers like Chris John, and some good ones (well imo like Andre Dirrell, but you'd be hard pressed to think of a handful of really special ones.
