What im curious of is if he him refocusing on his wrestling for the Johnson and Daley fights could make any difference in a GSP rematch where the wrestling was somewhat close the 1st time. Its possible Koscheck's wrestling game was rusty like example Tiger Wood's aint been playing Golf obviously or even practicing and when he got back to the course hes been struggling a bit from what ive read. No matter how great a wrestler Koscheck is he couldnt just ignore it heading into a bout with another great wrestler.

That's a little bit over-the-top IMO. Obviously Daley was disgusted because Kos was saying he was going to stand-up with him but then proceeded to hump his leg for 3 rounds, that would frustrate the hell out of anyone. Don't get me wrong, Daley is an ******* and was 100% wrong and out of order, but a fine and a 6-month ban would be more than adequate punishment. The guy is a very exciting fighter so it's a bad loss to the UFC to cut him loose.

true i didn't think it was that bad. I thought he was thinking the fight wasn't over yet and went on to punch koscheck. This has happen many times before where a fighter attack his opponent after a fight has been stopped.

White is sending a message to all the UFC fighters that they need to act professional because it's a mainstream sport now. If fighters can get away with stuff like that, then it's a black eye to the sport. So White is making it clear he will not tolerate this type of behavior by canning Daley.

Did anyone got canned in strikeforce when CBS had that mishaps?

Perhaps, but Dana has made it clear that he won't tolerate things that will tarnish the already precarious reputation of MMA in the mainstream media. This is the kind of clip the media loves to play over and over, saying, "Look how brutal this sport is!" So Dana had to immediately cut him to make a statement to both other fighters and to the press. So yeah, it was a harsh punishment, but Daley was guilty as charged.

No one in their right mind could have thought the fight wasn't over at that point. It was a blatantly obvious sucker punch and intended to be so.

  8. i'm disappointed he's cut from the ufc, and i think that is a bit harsh. a six mth or even twelve mth ban would've been appropriate.

how about KOS getting fined or at least reprimanded about his playacting? pretending to be kneed in the face when he obviously wasn't, is cheating, pure and simple. players in football get a yellow card when caught acting and exaggerating an injury. why this wasn't mentioned on ESPN amazes me.

daley is a dick and he was outclassed. however he had a rush of blood to the head, and shouldn't be chucked out imo. he is young and stupid.

I havent heard much regarding the CBS thing besides Strikeforce taking Mayhem out of his bout with Robbie Lawler in June. So the guy who got jumped gets punished for it. Reminds me of being in school being hit first and defending myself yet im suspended. MMA cant keep taking this bad publicity. You have tonight, CBS, the whole Toney thing which is a bad anyway you look at it and will cripple MMA if he wins.

Sounds like Strikeforce would be perfect for Daley.

i know Daley was probably so pissed he was covered with a blanket all night he was like "**** it i'm getting my shot in" but its no excuse. i Knew they were gonna cut him after he threw that late shot and its only right Kimbo goes after looking so bad.

It wasn't harsh at all, at the bar I was at everybody knew he was going to get canned. As much of a dick Koscheck is and as frustrating as it might of been to be blanketed for the whole fight, Daley should have known better. At the end of the day Dana White has a product to sell and stunts like this can only tarnish the UFC's reputation, especially after White made a dig at Strike Force for their little after fight melee.

Actually, Daley is lucky he wasn't charged with assault. A pro boxer a few years back suckered punched his opponent after the fight was stopped and he was arrested by the police. He was the boxer who ended up killing Max Kellerman's brother. Thugs like Daley imperil the image of boxing and MMA. UFC is well rid of him.
