Too much is being made of the fact that Clottey was able to land on Pacquiao. Manny strategically HAD to stand in front of Clottey in order to punch under and through his guard because Clottey offered no opportunities to Manny. Therefore I think with Mayweather he will also be able to land on Manny but he will definitely eat some leather to do so. Manny throws extremely fast, accurate and powerful combinations and is not afraid to get hit in order get his punches off. Mayweather being the smarter fighter IMO should still be able to counter effectively and muscle Pacquiao back in clenches and land cleanly on breaks as he always does. He'll definitely outpoint Manny but again dont look at the few punches Clottey landed as an immediate evidence that Floyd will definitely ladn just as clean. Thought:think

I agree that too much was made of the performance with Josh and him being able to land a few shots....just like Cotto...for the most part Manny allowe himself to be in the line of offense from these two guys so they could present their own openings that manny was looking to capitolize on.

ANd I do see your stance with predicting Floyd winning. I don't agree...but I do understand your logic. I see things a little different which has my prediction as Manny winning on points by simply outworking Floyd over 12 rounds.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao is the best fight possible for so many different reasons.

I wouldn't put a penny on either fighter.
This thing can end up so many different ways.

I give the edge to Floyd but I do agree it can go either way. Way I see it...

If Floyd can control the distance and make Manny hesitate to rush in by countering him, Floyd can win.

If Manny can close in, swarm Floyd and keep the pressure on, Manny can win.

We'll just have to wait and see, no?

:rofl Right! If Manny just used his speed, work rate and footwork to stay out of range while preventing Josh any breathing room for his own offense, then josh's compubox numbers would have been a record for the least amount of punches thrown over a 12 round fight.

In all likelyhood, Pacquiao will probably end up losing a decisive decision if he ever fights Mayweather. Mayweather is just too good. Pacquiao really only has one punch that \ he can land on Floyd and hurt him with and that's that straight left. However, Pacquiao has been using it more as a scoring punch lately rather than a hurtful punch. So Pacquiao might not have anything that can hurt Floyd. In many ways, I actually think Zab Judah was a tougher matchup for Mayweather than Pacquiao is. Hopefully, we'll get to find out.

If you think zab is a harder guy to beat than pacquiao, you need to watch that fight again.
    Zab quit after round 4.

Easy to say that but seriously, is that Mannys style. He's a fan friendly fighter for a reason because he stands their and is willing to get hit in order to try and finish an opponent. So we could say say why didnt he just do what dirrell did to Abraham but again to totally different style fighters.

I know, it sounds absurd. But think about it. First off, Zab didn't quit afte 4 rounds. He was still slinging hard shots in round 12. Second, Zab is bigger, longer, faster, and hits harder than Pacquiao. He's also a much better counterpuncher than Pacquiao, and has a much better jab. Zab has a great, powerful straight left, as well as a wicked uppercut. So Zab had the tools to fight Mayweather going fowards or backwards, and he had a few punches in his arsenal that Mayweather had to be aware of.

Pacquiao is ****ed if he has to fight going backwards. If he comes at Mayweather, that's also playing right into Mayweather's hands considering that Pac has a tendency to get off balance and leave himself open when he's attacking. If Mayweather is able to neutrilize that straight left, Pacquiao is in trouble. His right hand is not as good as it's made out to be, and his left hook comes in too wide. He lacks a well educated jab, so it will be hard for him to offset Floyd's offense, including Floyd's counterpunching.

I bet if I told you before the Mosley fight that Zab would be a tougher fight for Mayweather than Shane, you would've laughed as well.

I dont think so you have to think about the whole fighter. Yeah Zab has good pure boxing skills better reach and perhaps power but, his heart has a huge question mark and has never really been a dedicated fighter.
