No opponent named but still, hopefully he's trying to keep a little more busy than 2 fights a year, which will only benefit him in the ring, although I'm sure it's just a journeymen in which he's fighting next.

Hopefully he can keep his momentum going until this s6 tourney is done, and try to secure a fight with the winner like most of us want.

So does anybody have any info on Bute's upcoming fight?

Stieglitz didn't work. Pavlik and Hopkins are not willing to fight him, at least this summer. Dawson has a fight against Pascal. The only way to explain the cancellation of Bika-Brinkley is that one of them will be Bute's opponent in Romania. Let's hope he gets rid of his mandatory obligations (that's coming fast with the IBF, every 9 months). If that's the case, fighting 3 months after Miranda will be a good thing, a good stay busy fight, making his agenda open for bigger fights this autumn.

The worst case scenario would be Bute against a bad opponent in Romani, then stuck again with the winner of Bika-Brinkley.

Well either way, Bute is stuck with B- and below fighters, so being more active can only help him stay sharp until he can finally fight some A listers.

That will most probably spell disaster for Rudy. But I don't think this is a likely fight. Rudy Markussen is coming of a 3 1/2 years layoff and is one of the main atractions of TV2's (Danish Channel) new boxing program.

Oh god no please. That would be a Joppy-like defence for Bute.

You're probably right, but I think its better than him doing nothing for another 7-10 months.

Rudy Markussen will need 3-4 fights at the least to get back to form. Imo. while Markussen was a solid top 5 fighter before he retired, in the current climate at 168, Markussen is a top 10-20 fighter once he is back and has had some 3-4 fights. But if they fight now, Bute will most likely KO Markussen in a couple of rounds.

And even a top prime Markussen would be a solid underdog against Bute. So I hope this is not the fight Bute is after.

The rumored opponents for the title defense in Romania are getting weaker and weaker with every weeks that passes.

The only decent opponent out there for him at the moment (Stieglitz) wants absolutely nothing to do with Bute.

If Bute fights Markussen it will means a huge amount of fighters turned the fight down. I mean, even in the current state of the division with the limited amount of opponents available because of the Super 6. Fighting Markussen would be a joke.

What about Bika, Brinkley, Magee, Sartison, Balzasay, Inkin, Demers, Sherrington, Paul Smith, Jean Paul Mendy, Marcus Johnson, Don Goerge, Enrique Ornelas, etc...

They all represent a better opponent then Rudy Markussen. Surely one of them would take the fight?

I'd rather see Bute fight a prospect or a "has-been" then a guy who's never done anything.

Bika may still be available. Renan St-Juste, who could have replaced Brinkley against him, has another opponent for May the 28th. So, Bika has no opponent for this date...

I heard that Markussen had a fight this weekend against a fighter who has never been down or stopped in his career.

When is the fight? I wanna see if I can catch it online.

Bute talks very softly, nearly a whisper, like a girl.

He never calls anyone out, shows up at their training camp or causes any kind of fuss. Almost as if he is in hiding and doesn't want to be noticed, like rabbit in a field of lions, Bute must not make too much noise, else he may be heard and the lions would pounce on to his light snack of a carcass.

Shhhhh, be very quiet......they be hunting wabbits wound here!

    I was there. :)

Markussen had a 3 week camp after another layoff this time injury related. He crashed his car and had 3 ruptured discs in his neck which is no joke.

Anyway Markussen displayed his brutal power and you can see for yourself here:

I talked quite a bit with Kalle Sauerland and he'd like to see Markussen-Magee shortly.
