I spoke to Paul Williams briefly about the Cintron incident and making 147lbs.

Thanks NBA Paul is a class act. A true throwback champion. Hope it works out and he reaches the top.

Paul would be too much for Shane. Paul can beat an welterweight champ from history, he's that good, tough, smart and tricky to fight. believe it.

    Great interview NBA. :good

Did the topic of PDubya fighting Berto come up?

With the way Williams handled Winky(perhaps he thought he was just sparring NBA:yep ), he would be a pretty good chance against Mosley and probably start the betting favourite.

I wonder if HBO would do a 24/7 for Mosely/Williams? Probably not unfortunately.

From reading and seeing interviews Paul gives, sometimes he seems like too nice a guy to be fighting at the elite level and I sometimes wonder if he has enough killer instinct, but I guess it hasn't held him back to date, so . . . . . .

Even though Cintron landed a good shot, that made paul stumble back? Why would he take a dive after that? Come on give me a break.

Good thread, PW should go back to 147 if he can and watch PBF's stuttering problem get worse.

Look at the replay in slow motion, he leap through the ropes in which it look like he dive. And did it look to you that he wanted to continue fighting when he said he told the doctor? If Cintron wanted to continue fighting then don't you think he would have stand up on his own power and told the doctor "look i'm fine.'?

Yo neck i have a question then, so its official that the reason he seemed 'cold' those first couple rounds was because his trainer wanted him to start slow?

Good interview and thanks for sharing it.... :good

It was actually a good strategy. Williams faded at the end of his last fight, so starting slower may leave him with some energy at the end and Cintron is known for fading down the stretch. I feel that Williams was taking over at the end of the third and Cintron was moving backwards more. I think Williams would have won going away, giving some validity to the claims that Cintron took a dive. (I don't think so, but who knows.)

To be honest, I think Williams could have overwhelmed Cintron from the first round...Cintron wasn't throwing many punches, was always looking for the counter. If Williams went right at him and made him throw, I think he could have gotten him out of there before the 12. The first 3 rounds...they seemed to be feeling each other out too much, very hesitant to throw.
