Katsidis beats the living **** out of Mitchell

I really hope Mitchell boxes smart like he did against Prescott. There's no value in gettin into an all out with as Katsidis is as tough as they come. If Kevin can win it, i see him becoming the next ricky hatton with a cult like fan base!

I think its going to be an extremly tough fight for Kevin to win. Have watch 6 Katsidis fights in the last week.

He may have lost twice but he is under rated. He is one of the best at cutting of the ring. he leaves no distance between himself and the other fighter. He doesn't allow his opponents to counter punch him. He is the lead puncher always creating opportunities for himself. When he gets inside he is a fantastic body puncher. He will just chop you down.

His defense is better than people think. He is not just a swinging brawler. He fights out of the shell, he has his hands up and will block punches at the start of his attacks. Even when he is throwing bombs he still has a good defense and is blocking punches.

Katsidis losses have come agaisnt Juan Diaz and Joel Casamayor. The fight against Diaz was a very close fight. Casamayor is a southpaw and a great great fighter. Casamayor hurts Katsidis with his left hand and Katsidis could not handle the southpaw stance early in the fight. Mitchell is nothing like Casamayor. and remember Katsidis was dominating the fight until Casamayor threw that great punch. Katsidis does not have a bad chin, anyone would get hurt if they leave themselves open and get hit flush.

 

WTF are you talking about. Look, as an american i have no nationalistic
stake in this. No way friggin way kat easily wins this. Mitchell is faster,
more mobile, and a better boxer than "the great" is. If mitchell can
handle to swarming attack and big power michael brings then he wins a decision. If he cannot, then he gets stopped late, but not before he administers some good punishment of his own. THe thing is, we know what
to expect from katsidis, but mitchell is undefeated and we don't know how
much he is capable of. Mitchell is the X factor in this one, and my gut tells
me that he does avoid being bludgeoned and takes this by a 116-112 type nod.

 

welcome to the brit forum christo. agree with most but dont think Mitchell is more mobile. katsidis can get around the ring well and is very good at cutting it off. nightmare for a fighter that likes to counter punch like Mitchell

I keep chopping and changing how I see this fight as I think its a pick em'. At the moment I am going for a SD win for Mitchell. Could be a FOTY contender....

 

People forget what happened on Michaels american TV debut.... He fought the phillipine lad Amonsot?! He got outboxed and relied on work rate and punching power... Amonsot even outbrawled him at times.... Mitchell should win

 

I havent forgot how Mitchell was getting beat up by British standard 130 lb fighter Johanson.

 

Im 50-50 on this fight,hopefully from a british perspective mitchell wins,but if not i wouldnt be down hearted.I just want to see a great scrap as i like both boxers...cant wait.
