showing compubox to see who won? assuming that it is accurate, do you have the round per round stats? pro boxing will win you a round even if it is just 1 punch to another ones 0. you can also win one round by 25 shots to 0. that means one boxer can win 11 rounds with 1-0 punch stats while his opponent can the 12th round with 12-0 punch stats. over-all the one who won just one round has outlanded the winner of 11 rounds by 12-11 punches. as i remember it, cotto had been leading mosley on the cards that he has the luxuary to fight off the backfoot by the last rounds. many of mosley's fans gave it to him thus having the illusion of a draw but it's not really the case. cotto even outboxed mosley off the backfoot. even mosley acknowledged cotto's win after the fight.
Didn't Floyd beat two of those fighters at higher weights?:-( Man, you have to be the worst ******* on ESB.
I think most writers had mosley winning the last 2 out of 3 rounds including the 12th. I do see what you're saying though but in a lot of fights I thought the other guy won, once I see the punch stats that guy usually landed the most punches and/or power punches just as I had been watching punctuating my opinion.
So if Lucian Bute KO'd Manny and Floyd back 2 back he would be fighter of the decade right? That is basicaly what you get when you put JMM and Floyd in the same ring. Hatton was just as big and Cotto was bigger than Manny and both are younger fighters. Both were p4p top 10 at the time as well. Those are greater than Floyd's wins over older/blown up JMM and old Mosley.
where are these most writers? cotto did magnifecently even at the backfoot. why would you trust what you saw upon the writers. have you even watched it?
pac can fight marquez (#3) and donaire (#4) now and he could forget floyd (#2) and he can be the run-away P4P king if you will follow that logic.
You need to have a head exam if you think wins over a 38 year old Mosley, and a 36 year old lightweight in JMM are better than wins over prime 29 year old Cotto, another true, big top 10 welterweight in Josh Clottey, lineal champ Ricky Hatton at 140, and a older but heavily favored DLH at 147.
Nope, everyone knows that Mayweather fought a prime Marquez and even went down in weight to fight him.
yeah he did beat them. first the p4p#2, a young and prime featherweight who had only fought twice at lightweight but had to jump to welter (144 catchweight) to meet "money" and best was cheated by not honoring the cotracted weight! he beat the p4p #3, a 38 years young prime welter who went life & death against great mayorga until the final round KO, who later koed margo! by that... he has now taken the p4p title from pac who dominated if not destroyed opponents while fighting beyond his weight! the man who ascended to different weight classes by dominating them! it's justified that floyd has stolen the virtual title from pac!
Then why is Hatton picking Floyd over Manny if they fight? Seems kinda odd, considering Pac KO'd him in two rounds instead of 10 right? Bottom line, Hatton was done after the Floyd fight. Floyd said as much before Hatton fought Pac. That's what happens when you step into the ring in the best shape of your life and get crushed. As for Cotto, even Freddie Roach stated that the Margarito beatdown changed Cotto and made him far less dangerous. I watched Cotto nail margo with flush combos the whole fight that margo just walked right through. That will destroy your spirit. Cotto was a beaten man before he stepped into the ring.
Cotto was at least only 29 years old and once beaten. Shane had 2 fights in the last 2 years before Floyd and was inactive for over a year when he fought PBF. Sugar didn't exactly set the world on fire against shot Mayorga either.
Here's one I just pulled up Round 7: Mosley dances for the entire round and has some success landing clean punches on Cotto. Not sure how long he can keep it up, but Mosley's change in strategy is paying some dividends. Round ends with some wrestling. Mosley 10-9. Round 8: Mosley has changed the pace of the fight with his dancing. The crowd doesn't like it but the big question is whether or not it's impressing the judges. Very tough fight to score. Mosley 10-9. Round 9: Pace has changed again as Cotto spends the latter portion of the round dancing away from Mosley. He's still using both hands and doesn't appear hurt but something has changed. Mosley 10-9. Round 10: Mosley is confident and aggressive as Cotto appears to be trying to catch his second wind. Cotto may also have a cut in his mouth. Cotto lands a few good shots late in the round. Mosley 10-9. Round 11: Mosley remains the aggressor throughout the round but Cotto land the cleaner, harder punches even as he's moving back. Mosley appears the fresher but is unable to take control of the tiring Cotto. Cotto 10-9. Round 12: Mosley slips and falls early in the round. An accidental clash of heads opens a small cut above Cotto's right eye. Cotto retreats the entire round as if he has the fight already won. Mosley keeps pressing the action but doesn't land anything meaningful. Anyway, I've only seen maybe half the fight. I just went on what I've read in the past. It doesn't really matter though. It was a very close fight
