It is. It's not going to be on HBO from what I have read and from what Amir said in his post fight interview. So will need to be on Sky Box Office to cover the funds that is unless ITV (or Sky) decide to go crazy and offer £500,000 upwards for the fight (which will never ever ever ever ever ever hever happen) so back on Sky Box Office with it providing the British portion of the card. Golden Boy have George Groves on the Diaz-Marquez card so that will hopefully entice Sky into buying that fight, which I think they will be because they are already really pumping the Groves-Degale talk.
Yeah, it was a very good performance and since he's hooked up with Roach his defense has improved and he's become a better fighter overall but I think he's lost something in the process. He looked a little stiff and a little too "textbook" if that makes sense. He has speed but not much power, and his combinations are flurries rather than crisp. Maybe I'm being overly critical but he leaves himself open to the left hook too. I think against someone who has the speed and timing to make him pay he would be eating that shot all night. Like he said in the interview I'd like to see Maidana next, with the winner facing the winner of Bradley/Alexander.
If that's the case, Ortiz is more likely. Shouldn't be too much of a problem for Khan, although Ortiz can hit. I think Khan would need to start cautiously and then start breaking Ortiz down in the mid rounds, because his stamina didn't look great against Campbell. Also, Ortiz seems as concerned about being hit as Khan does, so he isn't exactly going to be going gung ho. This is actually quite possible. Campbell, Diaz and Mitchell are three fights they might take if they don't want Bradley or Alexander yet. Not the best fights out there but a step up all the same.
I dont think you'd get much satisfaction from that fight, Ortiz is still fragile from his Maidana loss, and Khan may not have much of a chin, but u cant question his heart, and Freddie would devise a gameplan to really Put Ortiz under the cosh. The only guys who stand a chance against the bigger taller Khan are Bradley and Alexander.
I think Khan has integrated his style a lot more. Before when he was against Kotelnik they worked on the defense, power against Salita and now the jab and more accurate punching in this fight. He's improving and getting better, he's holding his ground, commanding the middle of the ring with great jabs.
Only if Maidana wants to enforce the mandatory and as he is with Golden Boy too and is on record as saying that his manager had advised him to have two or three more fights to build his name before fighting Khan, that's unlikely.
That jab could trouble him, compubox had him at 100% for jabs thrown/landed. But you need to be an inside fighter to really trouble Khan, and Prescott was easily muscled into the corner there, not a hint of an uppercut or any bodywork.
:huh last time i seen him he was making a movie and looked about 180 pounds, that old man would get torn apart
