Strikeforce: Alistair Overeem vs Brett Rogers

I think Rogers will win, as he still fresh and young to the game. As others have said Overeem is better on a techincal stand point but other areas matter such as mental makeup and will to win. For some reason i favour Rogers to do it.

 

Overeem by sub in round 1 (or Ko)

But who knows...anything can happen. (he proved it against arlovski)

Well this is a dangerous fight for Overeem as Rogers is naturally a very strong and heavy handed fighter. Although his standup should be better, I think it would be best for Overeem to take him down and submit him to avoid and risks.

 

I think Rogers makes it easy for Reem to MT clinch him and mash knees off his face if he bumrushes at the outset. Rogers has to try to land a big shot in the middle of exchanges to win this fight, Reem has the advantage EVEYWHERE else. Overeem KO end of the 1st.

 

I've been thinking Overeem is a big dude with power. If he gets thrown around it's because Rogers is immense.

 

Übereem is a beast.

I feel there's a distinct possibility that Rogers has been overrated off the Fedor loss.

"Styles make fights" - it's as true in any other combat sport as it is in boxing. Rogers may have just exposed some slight stylistic vulnerability in Fedor, as opposed to being a world-beater and 2nd best in the division as some have since touted him.

This should be a good scrap, in any event. The judges may well have an easy night's pay.

 

Who has the better Chin?

 

Overeem's isn't iron but he also has devastating power. He's sort of like a kickboxing/MMA version of Herbie Hide or Tommy Morrison.
