At Heavyweight Overeem is 11-1-1NC (5 KO's and 6 SUBS)

    Note:
    - I think CroCop was definitely on his way to a stoppage loss in that NC.
    - Reem also has a victory over the guy who beat him - Sergei Kharitonov.
    - 3 of his ko's are by knees. 1 of his subs is also by knees.
    - 3 of his subs are by Guillotine.

FYI - He was born in the UK and thus the Great British Heavyweight hope.

Kharitonov had his number imo. In the first fight , Sergei had a major problem with his shoulder (which is why he wasn't defending himself at all)...In the rematch , (both looked like ****) , none of Overeem's attacks had any effects on the guy , & he had no problem finishing him.

Of course, Overeem probably caused the massive injury in the first fight anyway (or not..) . So that shouldn't be an excuse. (but still worth noting)..Pretty much like what happened in Shogun's fight vs Jackson.

Kharitonov can sure take a beating...

The guy has gotten even stronger since his loss to Sergei! He will be a handfull for anyone. Even at lightheavyweight he would invaribly start fast, setting a quick pace and building leads in bouts. There were probably an exception or two, no doubt. Hopefully for the rest of MMA heavyweights he will fade and give in when confronted with resistance. Not unlike his most recent K-1 loss to Hari.

Fedor has a big obstacle coming up.

Interesting to find ut that Overeem was born in the U.K.. I read some stuff a while back on shitdog about his ethnic make up. Supposidly his parents are from Suriname.

You'll find alot of black Dutch kickboxers are of West Indian descent namely the Dutch colonies like Suriname. I believe Manhoef is also of Suriname descent. And im pretty sure Overeems mother is white. He's father was from Suriname.

I forgot about the Werdum loss. That was openweight class. I'm not sure what he weighed.

I think Overeems mother is white. I think she is in the video where he talks about horse meat.

Pretty much all of black Dutch people are of Suriname descent. But their athleticism doesn't come from India, but from the west african slaves, who make about one third of the genetic pool there. His mother is white AFAIK.

 You're not Colombus are you? West Indians have nothing to do with India. That was that idiots Colombus's fault who couldnt use a compass. Pretty much most WI's are of African descent. With some Indentured slave descendants from India.

K1 loss to Hari, I watched it and not so impressed with that as something that should be considered a loss. Overeem didn't appear to be hurt, and the nature of those K1 fights are what they are for the purpose of allowing multiple fights per night..

If anything, I don't feel Overeem was, "beaten" but Hari did definitely earn a victory that night.

Overeem is exceedingly dangerous from side mount, he's shown his ability to deliver knees that will suck the life out of anyone. Obstacle for Overeem, should he get the mount, that is where Fedor is perhaps most dangerous to him, unless Overeem gets mounted himself.

Seems Overeem's best shot against Fedor is to attempt to force standup, and be wary of that right cross.
