Ok We know Berto is a small welterweight and Khan is a big Junior welterweight so say they met somewhere in the middle like 145, who wins and why?

This is a tough one for me cause I still haven't seen enough from Berto to give him that stamp, and theyre both the future of boxing so I guess somewhere down the line they will square up.

If losing the extra 2 pounds doesn't kill Berto then Berto wins by KO.

He has the power to KO Khan and he has the speed and skills to land that KO punch.

i'm not sold on berto. khan, under roach, is more polished and fundamentally sound despite his age...at least that's the way it seems. however, berto is fast and has some pop and khan showed some signs (marks) after the paulie fight of being hit. if berto gets to khan he can stop him.

Berto seems so much stronger than Khan. He would eventually get inside and land one(or a few) as he did with "El Indio"(Quintana). That is if Khan doesn't mess him up too bad with the jab first.

Berto definitely needs to work on his endurance though.

Berto would annihilate him. Khan would not be able to stand Berto's power mixed with by far the fastest hands Khan will have faced to this point. Berto bullied a solid natural junior middle in his last fight, he would batter Khan around the ring until Roach throws in the towel if Khan can take it, other wise it'll be an early KO

that sounds like a realistic matchup.

anyway my money would easily go to Berto. pretty much what Jacko said.

Khan dont need catch weight, Khan's body frame is perfect for 147.

Berto has weighed 145 before and he usually weighs about 146, an extra lb won't effect him, he has only showed bad stamina once against Collazo but against Forbes and Estrada he looked very fresh at the end.

I don't see Kahn beating Berto, who is a short WW but if you look at his frame you can see he is big as he is very thick & muscular. Anyway too much size, speed and pop for Kahn IMO.

I'd consider it a complete toss-up. Neither of these men to me are all that proven.

Not interested. I'd prefer Khan if I had to back one.

I'd pick Berto right now. He isn't getting bullied by Khan like Malignaggi did. Berto has some pop so who knows. Khan, like someone said above, seems to be the more skilled or as least polished one who makes the least mistake.

Not if but when this fight takes place in a few years down the line, we'll find out then.

Khan will hopefully fight Alexander and Bradley, then make his move up to Welter whether he beats the top two in LWW or not...

The way I see it going? Berto is slick and powerfull, someone alien to Khan. Early KO R2

Realistic fight in 18 months/2 years down the line, i'm a big khan fan but would fancy berto if it happened now, by a ko.

Down the line though a toss up i'd say, yes berto would be the fastest khan has fought but i'd say khan would be the fast berto had fought, probably a case of who beats who to the punch and ring IQ, and i am enjoying khans fast, rangy, slegehammer jab... But berto would rough him up on the inside, and i'm not sold yet on khans inside game it would be a cracking fight though.
