who knows how much dlh really weighed, before the fight? when it comes to weight, dlh acts like a woman, its like a big secret. believe in the dlh vs. mayweather fight, the wieght on fight night weren't revealed. dlh wanted to go down to 147 and have pac come up to 147, so he can make it seem that he didnt have a size advantage on pac. however it backfired because dlh was too big to make 147 and still be strong
you act like Oscar did not try to re hydrate, obviously he did but when you do what Oscar did your body goes into almost a shock.... especially when your flushing everything the last week leading up to the weigh in once your body is in flushing mode and you have come down that far in weight the damage is done.... especially when your up there in age the way Oscar was....
I remember hearing that the day of the weigh in. Then the fight happened and people didn't think Oscar getting his ass visciously kicked was part of a "grand plan" any longer.
I'm praying someone has actually answered this correctly before I do right here, but I didn't see it. I can't believe so many people here wouldn't know this.... He was dehydrated in order to make the weight. Had he been putting any fluids in his body, he would NOT have made the weight at all. They started rehydrating him immediately after the weigh-in, but he was so damaged and dehydrated they couldn't put it back in him quick enough to do him any good. He crippled and sabotaged himself to get to 147. That's not intended as a slam against Pac, but I don't give him much credit for the DLH win for that reason. Cotto and Hatton are much better wins than a crippled up ODLH.
He has no problem making 147. Oscar only cares about becoming the first billionaire boxer, he has said such.
He earned his money. If he has no problems making 147, why are they sticking him with needles like he's a pinata trying to get some fluid back into his body? Is it really so much fun to just plain hate on a fighter?
You've got lots of funny answers, but you fail to give any account for how Pac mysteriously lost 4lbs during the trip from his hotel room to the official weigh-in. All the other stuff I pointed out could be explained away if they were isolated facts. However, when put them together with the missing 4lbs, they aren't so easily dismissed. If you assess the facts and use your head, you'd see that Oscar had a $6M incentive to rig the scale. If they had done the job properly, and had only adjusted the scale by two pounds, he would have probably rehydrated like normal. Making the scale read 4lbs light made the tampering too obvious which is why Oscar spent the night boiling off the last two pounds instead of rehydrating so he could give an acceptable fight night weight. After that was given, his team employed emergency rehydration measures. Please give a reasonable explanation for how Pac could have lost 4lbs traveling from his hotel room to the weigh-in and then regained those pounds on a different scale immediately after the weigh-in. Common sense will tell you that the official scale was hinky.
All i could say is that i have been watching De La Hoya for a long long time, and that wasn't a correct Oscar in the ring that night against Pacquiao.
