I disagree with the posters who say Tyson was a waste of talent. It's true the time he spent in prison was wasted years, but I would say the attitude he had in life was a big contributing factor to his success in the ring.
The same with Naz. The confidence and arrogance that gave him his success evaporated after MAB, so he had nothing left any more.

Both these fighters (and others) could maybe have had statistically better boxing records, and perhaps gone on for longer, but I don't think we would have preferred that as boxing fans.

I would have to say Golota who skills were on par with the best but his head was wacked and when he finally got his head somewhat right his skills were diminished. It was just not meant to be for Andrew. The other is Ray Mercer who I actually thought beat Lennox Lewis.

But in the end your mentality is part of the package just like heart, power, speed, etc..so saying what if this and what if that is the same as saying how would Ali have been without speed and what would Foreman have been without power.

Dave Hilton had a 4p4 talent, missed his life, still in jail.
This is a big waste of talent.

Carl Williams and Razor Ruddock are probably the best heavys never to win the Championship........

Mike Weaver was probably the one heavyweight that stands out as the man who held the title for just a flash .. along with Marvin Hart...

Although he is in the hall of fame and therefore cannot truly be considered a 'waste of talent', if Benny Lynch wasn't such good friends with the liquor he could have went on to truly be one of the greats.
