With the Super Six tournament and the one at Light Welter being mentioned, I was wondering how a tournament in the Featherweight division would work out? There are soooo many fights being discussed right now its confusing.

    I was thinking:

Firstly, Juanma Lopez takes care of Concepcion, Chris John takes care of Fernando David Saucedo and Yuriorkis Gamboa takes care of Elio Rojas (possibly, as in the fight still needs to be made)

Then, would you rather see Lopez vs. Caballero and Gamboa vs. John or the other way around?

Chris John has been mentioned as calling out both of them and Caballero CLEARLY wants Lopez more but would be willing to fight Gamboa. Am I missing anyone who should be mentioned (Ponce de Leon, Marquez, Salido)? Is there a better format? Are any of the preliminary matchups questionably described as a sure "take care of"?

And finally, who would win in the matches?

Gamboa vs John would be a great final. I expect great things from Gamboa

We need to see Caballero-Lopez first, after that callout its just necessary.

I would love a FW tourney.

This guy? Well, his 4 round tune-up fight would put him in prime position to face someone of the caliber of Caballero, right? Plus, he has a fight for June 4th, he's just waiting for one of the top guys to challenge him, haha.:good

I think Gamboa would win this tornement easily. He is top dog in a class of his own.

He isn't ready for the top guy's, but he's avoided by pretty much everyone. He will never beat the elite, but he's a good fighter, you shouldn't sit there judging a guy by what he appears to have done on Boxrec and instead how about you actually watch some boxing?

Dude, he's fought once in 2 years, plus he's 38 years old. I don't know too much about him, that is true, but I'm also pretty sure he's not one of the top 10 featherweights in the world.

Judging by your angry response, he is a good fighter, and I'm sure your right. But seriously dude, no need to get belligerant with me, I'm just trying to joke a little too. In fact, I watch a LOT of boxing, probably more than you, I'm just young and haven't heard of some of these guys. I really don't know why you are getting so angry when I post a Boxrec, you have no idea if I've watched videos of him or anything. So why don't YOU stop sitting there, being a keyboard warrior and actually try to contribute positively to my thread. Thanks

I think it would be good to see.

    Gamboa
    Lopez
    Rafa Marquez
    Caballero
    John
Izzy(if he can get that scar tissue removed. Im still saying he looked fast and strong, The damn cut is all that ruined the fight)

the end result will be Juanma vs. guillermo rigondeaux, a fight, I really want to see. Teddy Atlas dared say Guillermo was gonna be one of the best defensive fighters in history, so naturally I want to match him up with Juanma, Gamboa, Vasquez, Marquez, John, Cabellero will all fall at the hands of Lopez, too easy.
