Most Embarrassing/Cringeworthy Moments in Boxing

Emmanuel Steward saying Joe Calzaghe was, "mentally intimidating Bernard Hopkins," by walking into his hands all night was definitely one of the dumbest things i had ever heard. I'm surprised no one mentioned, "I'll never lose to a white boy!" edison miranda talking about kelly pavlik not being worth his time was comical too.

 

i dont care what anyone says "got skills got stamina, got hands of stone like the champ from panama" is an awesome line

 

I was at the theater for the Mayweather-Mosley fight, and got there quiet early and there was some behind the scenes of them filming that gladiators commerical. That was pretty embarrassing.

Hopkins falling on the ground against RJJ was quite embarrassing as well.

I remember Oscar doing an interview years ago (I think it was after the Bazooka fight) where he was saying he looked in the mirror and saw the bruising and swelling and was feeling like it wasn't worth it. Just hearing him (with that sugary, fayg accent of his) saying, "Why am I doing this to myself? My skeen is so senseeteev!" made my stomach turn.

Ann Wolfe's celebration over an unconscious Vonda Ward was grotesque. I was almost expecting her to whip out a jimmy and start pissing all over Ward's corpse the way she was acting.

When Mike walked out to fight Lennox Lewis with such eloquent lyrics as "Suck my d!ck" blaring out the speakers followed by a lull in which Mike prowled the ring looking like a cross between a nutcase and a deer caught in headlights. Then in dropped Lennox looking cool as hell with the song "Were gonna chase those crazy baldheadsssssss"

 

I agree roy was getting some payback but i'd rather see someone like Danny Green knock Roy the **** out rather than seeing some showboat when they couldn't even knock RJJ down let alone out.:deal

How could I have left out the Peden KO of Campbell? BL. It was more over-the-top than a slapstick movie. Campbell had to have some hard bark on him to survive the ribbing he must have got every place he went.

First met Peden in a postage-stamp sized gym above a garage in Aukland, NZ. Watching him train little kids, never imagined he'd ever make it to the States.
