Devon Alexander vs Andreas Kotelnik to fight in august

LVIV, Ukraine (AP)—Former WBC and IBF light-welterweight champion Andreas Kotelnik of Ukraine will fight current champion Devon Alexander of the United States on Aug. 7 in St. Louis.

WTF? why? ridiculous fight! He has all the ingredients to fight Kahn, Bradley and Maidana, so why isn’t he? Id prefer him in there with Ortiz rather than Kotelnik

 

Yea but i think he wants to fight a former champs first. I want to see him against ortiz also. Khan vs Maidana i hope it happens soon but i hear khan might be fighting katsidis next.

 

I was actually hoping for Zab instead of Kotelnik but I guess he'll have to do.

 

King controls Kotelnik and Alexander and can get that fight made with the most profit. Can you imagine the delays GBP would put out if Ortiz even considered getting into the ring with Alexander?

 

I am looking forward to seeing Alexander back in the ring. He has impressed me each time I've seen him.

 

Khan, Bradley, Judah and Maidana all turned down a fight with Alexander for this summer. Ortiz is with Golden Boy. They are not going to match Ortiz with Alexander at this moment. I'm not big on him fighting Kotelnik, but it's a solid fight all things considered.

 

well since bradley has a fight ready khan seems to have someone already agreed and ortiz only just fought i can see this as a good test for alexander someone with good boxing skills granite chin and would actually prefer alexander coming at him to fight rather then having to chase khan

 

yep i like to watch this kid fight. Man what he did to urango was awesome. I never thought urango would get knockout like that.

 

I just dont understand why a guy that lost he last fight via a virtual shut out over 12 deserves a shot at 1 of the big boys. Devon will dominate him. Im not even sure it will be competitive

 

yea i think this fight would go longer than a fight with khan. Khan is a better boxer but i don't think he can take alexander's power.

 

Ive heard the rumours flying about as well. Not sure this would be ideal for either man to be honest. It would make more sense for Kats to fight JMM-Diaz winner rather than moving up to fight Kahn.

Also i dont think Amir will fight some1 with a 75% KO ration just yet either

yea i rather see katsidis vs diaz cuz JMM would outboxed katsidis easily then knock his ass out.

If amir is fighting maidana in the future then katsidis would be a nice fight for him to get ready against a big puncher.
