thanks powerpuncher for posting this. the ignorance of some of the posters here is astounding. I dont take creatine because i cant stand the taste of it but i know how great the benefits can be. When protein powders first came out people were saying that it had terrible side effects and would make you bulk up to an enourmouse size (the sellers still say that it'll make you bulk up lol) but the truth it both protein and creatine can only help you, provided you dont overdo them. With the extra APT energy you may be able to push out a few more reps when lifting, or hit the bag a bit longer, or push through your sprints harder. It wont give you better skill as a boxer in any way but if you take it while training it'll make your training much more beneficial. but in the end its up to you to decide, if your scared of injesting anything with the word suppliment in it then feel free to run everytime you hear the word. if not, then enjoy the benefits.
Another creatine junkie joins the discussion. Before you call other posters ignorant, learn to spell. Tell you what, I'll help you out. Its "enormous," not "enourmouse." And its "supplement," not "suppliment."
claiming that every boxer should use creatine is prob one of the dumbest things ive herd on this site.
Yes,its typical of the guys who think doing weights will improve your punching power,or that one way of training will be best for everybody..... Most of these folks are probably youngsters with no real knowledge/experience of boxing or training..... Im sure tommy hearns would really improve his punch power and speed by squatting 300 pounds whilst downing creatine......:yikes :nut :smoke atsch
Have any of you guys gotten worse stretchmarks from creatine? you know that little area on your arm right by the armpit that seems suceptable to stretch marks... Im almost sure they got alot bigger on me from creatine from the extra swelling it causes.
at least most guys in favor of it are talking from experience. BTW this isn't a spelling contest, although maybe that's the type of place you should be.
I used creatine for a while but I did not notice any difference at all. I eat a lot of red meat so I probably get enough by natural means.
the only supplement i take is l-glutamine, i believe protein shakes and creatine aren't really needed, but they have their benefits.
I stopped taking whey protein a while ago due to financial problems. I'm not about to start it again, because I haven't noticed any difference at all. I think my muscles are used to boxing by now, they don't damage that much anymore. The only supplements I still use are multi vitamin/mineral and flaxseed oil.
I didn't realise this was a spelling contest. Read my post before you start calling me a junkie and you'll see that I dont take creatine.
Way to go dude. Your spelling is better already. Now you can call other posters ignorant and not look like an idiot. I'm glad that you don't take creatine. And every time you and anyone else on this forum posts about its "benefits," I'm going to post about its risks. Live with it.
