Manny's relationship with Wlad: Wlad keeps him in his place.

Sometimes fighters especially fighters like Wladimir Klitscko need a fire lit under them. Do you think Emmanual talking in a nice calm voice was going to get Wladimir motivated to go out there and actually attempt to look for a KO? You have to show a little more emotion sometimes to get people a bit fired up.

Needless to say I liked it lol.

 

I think in some cases it is necessary, like in this one. I'm sure Wlad wanted the KO, but wasn't ready to take enough risk for it it seemed. He could have gotten a lot of crap if it had gone the full 12 and now it just increased his reputation as a fearsome puncher.
The nicest thing was that Manny really got on his nerves... 'Relax Manny!, I'll try, I'll try!'

 

Yes, Wlad deserved it. I was shoutung at him through my screen and I dont even have anything to do with him. Yet alone Manny who trains him and is right there in the corner watching Wlad let a good chance go by. He fought like a damm sissy, Manny recognised that and urged him to do something about it.

 

Manny did the right thing. Wlad was in cruise mode and would have come out with a UD otherwise. Manny put Wlad in his place and shook him into realizing that he is the number 1 heavyweight in the world and should be knocking out guys who are 40lbs lighter than him. Manny knew another boring decision would do neither of them any favours and slapped Wlad into understanding it too.

 

Emanuel Steward is the best trainer for Wlad. And he wants to show the world how good Wlad really is so he told Wlad to go for the knockout and he knocked Chambers out.

Emanuel Steward and Wladimir Kltischko are a great team.

Steward helped him to come back to the top and now he wants to see the ATG Boxer Wladimir Klitschko!

It is what it is. I neither found the thing distasteful nor something great. Trainers put their own reputations and places in boxing history on the line with the fighters they train. They're both involved in the same project and they're going to disagree at times, get disgruntled with each other, etc. Wlad and Manny seem to have a great working relationship in general. But some fighters do need a kick in the ass. I thought Manny's excited urging was blown a little bit out of proportion. He didn't beat Wlad's chest like he did Lennox or anything.

 

You mean say to Wlad what everyone watching at home was shouting at their TVs? No, Manny did the right thing and Wlad has said so, he needed to get snapped out of that comfort zone that he was in and he's happier for it. Hopefully this will be focused on further in their training and be more evident in Wladimir's next fight.

Wlad is exactly that type of guy, he needs to get slapped around a bit to make him remember he's in a fight and not a sparring session.

Lol, yeah that was kinda funny. I don't know who won that arguement then because Wlad subsiquently went out and hammered Chambers. But would he have done so if Manny hadn't got pissed off at him?
