Does everyone now accept that Mikkel Kessler was not "RUINED" by the Calzaghe defeat?

    Calzaghe didnt ruin Kessler.

Calzaghe beat Kessler who was an undefeated fighter at the time, The calzaghe nuthuggers then hyped Kess up beyond belief to make it as if what Joe did was unthinkable. I remember even before the ward fight, Calzaghe fan boys were on here stating that with in a year Kessler would be the p4p 1# fighter.......Then after ward kicked his ass it became.."Kessler was ruined by Joe C".

Speaking of Cokezaghe, is he coming back to fight Hopkins? They should title that fight "No Country for Old Men"

You could be right about that. I might be going out on a limb on that a bit. We'll know even more after the fight with Allan Green. It's a fight I fully expect Ward to control. By the Dirrell fight I expect to know exactly what I need to about Ward.

I would say he was 'ruined' it was his first lost after that knew he could lose and that takes away 'invincibility' from fighters.

When he got cut vs ward he showed signs of wanting to quit way before it happened if he was undefeated I dont think that would happened.

Having said that Kessler vs the best will only be good when he fights at home

Kessler has looked worse since the Calzaghe defeat, without a doubt. The guy that foigh Andrade no longer exists.

Did anyone actually say Calzaghe ruined him? :rofl

Those Calzaghe fans have like two fights to brag about when it comes to this guy and they think he ruined them. He ruined Lacy, yes, but definitely not Kessler. Whoever thought he ruined Kessler is an idiot.

You know what's a better definition of ruined?, his damn resume.

EDIT: Voted NO thinking it was "No he didn't ruin him". Stupid poll.

Yes. Many many people. Do a forum search and you will soon find threads on it.

Yeah, it's my fault you can't read.

Of course Calzaghe didn't ruin him. In fact it was a pretty competitive fight. Kessler didn't get beat up or nothing.

But I do think Kessler has declined maybe due to the injuries or inactivity.

I don't buy into that ruined bull****. Kessler was overrated from day 1 though, at least by me. I thought he wasn't too impressive against Froch. Also, Ward is a special talent, I think that he'll show it in the years to come.

That being said, put Kessler vs Ward in a neutral environment and its a different fight. I think Ward wins but wouldn't be surprised to see Kessler pull it off with a great performance.

I agree in the sense that you say Calzaghe did not ruin the guy but i do believe that Kessler has lost a touch of the effiecency he once had, watching the Froch fight i could see he was getting hit by punches he wouldnt before hand, his punches are more looping and more importantly less accurate, he also does not hold the hand speed he once had.

Obviously what ive just said will make sense with some and not with others but nevermind.:good

Nah, wouldn't say he was ruined. He beat a trio of stiffs in Sartison, Haussler and Perdomo and lost to Ward, who I do consider a special talent but he was very competative against Froch, who's tough enough to give most guys in the division a hard night.

The Froch fight shows me the level Kessler was always at, gatekeeper/club level fighter. Kessler looked great beating up bums, looked great putting on a clinc on the one diminsional club fighter in Andrade, but when he steps up to the elite level he was broken down mentally and physically by Ward, probably by Dirrell as well, he is competitive with gatekeeprs like Calzaghe and Froch.

    Kessler wasn't ruined by Calzaghe.

This loss hadn't much effect on Kessler

He was "ruined" by his long inactivity in 2009

he looked bad against Ward and Perdomo but now he is on the way back to the top

    he will ko Allan Green
