Do fans really want to see Chambers/Brock over Miranda/Porras?

Without knowing the outcome of the fights, if you had a choice of these two cards, which would you rather see?

Undercard: Josesito Lopez vs. Tyrone Harris
Main event: Calvin Brock vs. Eddie Chambers

    or

Undercard: Adailton De Jesus vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa
Main event: Edison Miranda vs. Henry Porras

To me, it's an absolute no brainer (Miranda card). But of course Showtime chose the Brock/Chambers card. Does the public really prefer beer bellied feather fists (Chambers) and 2 punch per round old men (Brock) over exciting slugger KO artists (Miranda) and supernatural up and comers (Gamboa)?

Luckily HDNet picked up the Miranda card and I'll be seeing it after Calzaghe-Kessler, but the majority of boxing fans won't have this luxury. Also, it wasn't shown live.

Casual fans prefer heavyweights plus you talk about born and raised US fighters instead of foreigners.

True. How about us hardcore fans? I prefer US fighters, but only slightly and I still love to watch exciting foreign boxers. As for heavyweights, it is the most boring division today north of featherweight, and IMO, has usually been duller than lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight.

    True, but wasn't Chambers/Brock a guaranteed anesthetic?

i like chambers , but there was still a chance that brock could have won.

if porras was 100-1 i would still not have bet on porras having seen him so many times take a real pounding.

i actually think chambers is good to watch, albeit he cannot break an egg, he is nice and fluid, puts punches together well and sets a good tempo.

i just never beleived porras v miranda would be competitive at all.

In the best of both worlds, Brock-Chambers and Miranda-Porras would have made a nice doubleheader.

Not fan of heavies and i don't care about which country fighters come from but Brock and Chambers are good level fighters and talent wise a good matchup. Miranda-Porras was a decent get back in shape fight for Miranda, not terribly relevant nor competitive. However Miranda is a fun fighter to watch.

So Chambers/Brock was more watchable for a lot of people because it was more significant. I can accept that, I guess, but I don't like matches that put me to sleep, regardless of the importance.

    Chambers for sure:good

Some can keep trying to ignore, dismiss, and not give credit but Chambers has excellent skill, strength(for a small HW), and D.

Miranda is a rock em, sock em, robot, and has been outgunned at his own game. He will get dusted by those at 68:yep

Chambers?? The one fight that seems a mismatch is klitschko. Povetkin?? I cant wait:yep Povetkin will get schooled, Fast eddie isnt Chris Byrd:nono Chambers must definitely NOT FIGHT IN GERMANY:nono Over there, he will be robbed for certain. All Povetkin would have to do is survive.

Neutral site?? Fast Eddie will give Alexander a boxing lesson:good

will an american promoter invest in chambers though ?

i was surprised at how little the cunningham v huck purse bids were and yet it still went to germany.
