was going to say "formula 1" as itson this very moment and their "stars" are household names, but I was beaten to it in the first 2 posts!

Realistically I would say that spots (sadly) rank something like this...

    Football
    Binge Drinking
    Rugby
    Formula 1
    Cricket
    Tennis
    Athletics
    Golf
    Boxing

Stop being so ****ing churlish. Perhaps if boxing was to clean up its act and become a little more accessible to people other than us Internet nutjobs, it would be a more attractive product to the TV companies.

Cricket's a proper sport, there's way too much of bollocks like darts on the TV these days. I don't know if people can really say cycling and sailing and other rubbish nobody watches actually get more exposure than boxing. Golf gets too much coverage, it's a good game to play but I really don't see how it works as a spectator sport, it's 20 minutes of walking and standing for every 5 seconds of swinging and ball flying.

Sellout crowds, decent viewing figures, high prize money, regular tournaments, formats people can follow and recognisable stars. We should be lamenting the fact we lost Hearn to darts as opposed to denigrating that sport.

I get asked "Do you fancy going to the darts?" a lot more than "Do you fancy going to the boxing?".

I've never been but a lot of people love it as a night out or weekend away.

Looks like you get a proper show there. I mean, come on, would you rather watch Phil Taylor and James Wade throw a high quality set of darts, with between match entertainment and a lively atmosphere; or sit in some grotty leisure centre watching two average fighters, like Sykes and O'Hara, pat each other on the head for 12 rounds?

Poker gets the same but it's really not a sport. Like golf I don't understand how darts has become popular as a spectator sport, surely it'd be more fun to go down the pub and play yourself than pay good money to watch a fat guy sweat profusely and throw pointy things at a board for hours.

What are they supposed to report on everyday? How so and so still won't fight someone else, how the WBC have invented a load more belts and how Tyson Fury "dissed" someone on Twitter.

Mine or your opinion is irrelevant. The fact is, it's a better promoted, better followed and more profitable attraction than boxing. British boxing needs to get its act together, it's little wonder those FFN shows run the graveyard shift on a Friday night - they're pretty ****.
