Like I have said before. I can go along with everyone else and say Burms is the best at his weight in Britain but he has not beaten anyone in the top 5 in Britain yet never mind Europe or the WBO. Best of luck to him but fighters need to have better fights. I did think that when the Martinez fight first fell through and it looked like he may be fighting Johanesson or Sykes it would be a blessing in disguise.
If you've been given a straight shot at the title Why would you make it more difficult for itself if he's good enough to beat martinez which he appears to be then why fight every superfeather in the top ten
First of all :hi: Jeff :yep Secondly..... surely it would be better to be properly prepared for a shot at ''the big time'' - which he ain't, right now. On his recent form he isn't beating Martinez. If he fights at Euro level and has mixed success, then he's a Euro level fighter, simple as that, nothing at all to be ashamed of. Surely the whole point of world titles is to have proven world class performers contesting them, no? Warren needs to learn the P's Proper Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance :yep
Not saying he should turn it down. I just feel he would have been better prepared if he had fought someone half decent. I do not feel he is good enough to beat Leva never mind a top 10 fighter.
Firstly, leva might be good enough to beat martinez who is **** burns against leva would be a good test but burns has mixed at a fair level throughout his career this title shot seems unlikely to happen so don't worry about it secondly, my names phil so **** off
Nah can't see Kirakosyan beating Martinez. Did you see Martinez last night Jeff? Looked good, although his opponent wasn't the best.
It is well known that it ain't who you fight, it's who you don't fight on route to the title that matters...:yep Back in the day Ricky Hatton wanted to fight Junior Witter, there was no way that his promoter back then was going to let one of his prized assets go into battle in a real 50/50 fight. I have said it on here many times, back then at the domestic level Witter would have beaten Hatton, something we will never know, but just my opinion...:yep :bbb :bbb :bbb
until you address me by my real name which is philip you can just **** off i'm here to talk boxing not be bullied call me jeff call me a flint i don't care anymore i can contribute well if you give me a chance I understand i'm new but all i ask is you call me phil
if you have to hard of fights before a world title tilt you can be ****ed before you start, but experiance is very important as well ,burns is as good as he ever will be, so he's as well to chance his arm, get a payday, then if he comes unstuck, he can still mix in world class when he's less to lose, good luck to him i hope he wins, he'll be a champion for years if he can defend in scotland.
Ricky Burns 2010 If Ricky had got his world title sorted after Kevin O'Hara that would have been ideal. Unfortunatley Mr Warren was to interested in his cash cows and never got the finger out in time. Anyway moving on due to the lack of fights over the last 12 months Ricky should defo get another warm up fight in - Someone who will test him and prepare him well for Martinez? Then we can all go to Braehead Arena for the big showdown and witness Scotlands first world champion since Harrison (hope scotts doing ok). I agree with Billy Ricky is the best in britain at super-featherweight and it is very healthy at the moment. Watched sykes at the weekend and he is doing well - Burns v Sykes in the future would be a good fight. All the best Ricky from team mayhem. www.mayhem-promotions.moonfruit.com Are tickets on sale for the 17th of july yet? its the kelvin-hall?
