Spinks must have a bad memory of this fight. It was the perfect left uppercut (one of the best I've ever seen thrown), not a left hook.

Half hook, half uppercut. In any event, it was devastating. Johnson was about as tough as they come...to do that to him with one shot...his left hand even...is amazing. Spinks was badddd man at 175.
At the very least, it was a "hookercut". The motion he started out the punch looked like a left hook, then he launched the punch in an upwards motion, causing Johnson's head to go back and up. The slow-motion angle that shows it from the side shows that the direction of the punch is clearly going in an upwards motion (as well as to the right). He launched the punch at a low distance and his elbow was pointing to the ground, not to the side.
