RIP Gatti. Umm, Gatti - Ward were 10 round slugfest. Your more in amazement watching these guys take punishment then you are in awe of their boxing skill. Corrales - Castillo, Morales - Barrera, and Vasquez - Marquez are all better in terms of world class boxing skills along with subtle defense.
Pacquiao-Barrera 1 Tua-Moore Barrera-Hamed Kostya-Mitchell Calzaghe-Jones Jr. Wright-Taylor Martinez-Williams Donaire-Darchinyan Jones Jr.-Tarver 1 Baldomir-Judah Pacquiao-Delahoya Cotto-Judah
Corrales-Castillo would not be my favourite without the ending. But you have to take that also into consideration, and it had the most drama of all in the end. I like this list, I saw all of the fights, although I think Morales-Chi and and Freitas-Barrios are underrated here. I also miss Michalcewski-Hall 2, which was as brutal as it could be. Have you seen that fight? Certainly in top 50. I like the idea you put Wright-Taylor there, I also love that fight. I would also mention Calzaghe-Kessler.
I just have to say that after seeing this list, this is my favorite decade of boxing so far. To me, these fights and many more from Jan. 2000-Dec. 2009 can hold up with any fights from ANY era of boxing. With all the **** talking of boxing is dead, boxing is dying, MMA and the UFC are taking over, the shambles of the heavy-weight division, and so on, we got some of the best fights ever in my opinion. The replay value that these fight have are insane. I think another reason that I love this decade so much too is becuase a lot of my favorite fighters like Mosley,Gatti,Lewis,Morales,Barrera, the Marquez brothers seemed to have some of their best fights on the latter half of their career (except for Gatti of course). Then I discovered some new favorites like Pacquiao and Cotto. Some that I would add are: Toney-Peter 1 Mosley-Vargas 1 & 2 Mosely-Margarito Lewis-Grant Lewis-Tyson Lewis-Rahman 1 & 2 Toney-Holyfield De La Hoya-Mayorga Cotto-Clottey Pacquiao-Morales 3 Barrera-Juarez 1 Morales-Kelley Barrera-Kelley Barrera-Hamed Gatti-Millett I mean the list goes on and on!!! Let's hope that the next decade is as good and that we get some great new talent. As some of our favorite current fighters retire or have already retired let's see what the next 10 years can give us.
jullien letterlough vs julio gonzalez a forgotten classic should be in top 50 no doubt. 1a.castillo vs corrales 1b. berrera vs morales both at highest skill an ebon flow one just a little more dramatic
