It's a disgrace that British and German/Armenian fans have to stay up until mad hours to watch two European boxers fighting on the other side of the world. It's a serious "**** you" to those fans by the promoters.

It will sell in Montreal though because of the Bute interest. Abraham could very well fight Bute in the future.

In fairness, I am first to criticise Froch for being a moaner but he is well within his right to demand the fight not be in Germany. It's simply impossible to get a decision there!

I just think they should have got it in a neutral venue in Europe as thats where the fans of both fighters are.

Neutral territory, something Ward refuses to do. Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he got all of his fights in his home town. Why no outrage?

well maybe if this tournament was being financed by a european company and not an american one, you would have your wish.

Anything is better than a fighter getting the home town cheating advantage. I want a level playing field for all fighters, something Ward does not believe in.

We went over it in another thread ..The common feeling is that its Gold Medal Treatment nothing more ..Its jacked up that he doesn't have to travel at all but the rest of the participants have to..But hell of a job by his promoter for pulling that off.

I am a Froch fan and generally stick up for him, this is obviously the result of him feeling bitter about the Kessler outcome, which was a close fight, a tossup pretty much. There was one bull**** score in it, but it wasn't as though the wrong man won.

I talked a big game for Froch leading into the Dirrell fight, but Froch got beaten decisively in the end. That decision was a genuine robbery, Froch benefited greatly from the home town advantage. Realistically he probably should be 0 from 2.

I don't think it would be any harder for Froch to get a decision in Germany than it was for Dirrell to get a decision in Froch's backyard. They knew the score leading into the tourny and to throw a tantrum mid tourny and demand changes is unprofessional, especially as Froch has already benefited from a home town fight. I can see why he would do it, it is certainly an advantageous move, but it is wholeheartedly Froch's doing. To blame promoters for any of it is probably unfair, as Abraham was obviously not going to allow the fight to be in Froch's backyard, and showtime is an American company who obviously sensed the relevance of Bute in the 168 division (and therefore Canada).

    These are the facts:

The contract clearly states that the fight should take place "in Europe", and nothing else has been specified. Kalle and Hannesey had an informal chant and Hannesey understood Kalle's suggestion that they could certainly discuss Nottingham, as a 'yes, it will be Nottingham'.

So since Sauerland does not want the fight in the UK, and Froch doesnt want the fight in Germany, they discussed other options.

    Four possibilities were discussed:
    Switzerland
    Austria
    US
    Canada

    The US-option was quickly deleted.

Then from the three remaining options it looked like Switzerland or Austria would be where it was held. However, in the end they agreed on Canada.

A choice which I think will be more of an advantage to Froch. There will be some Armenians, but I think the majority will be cheering for Froch (although some Canadians surely want to see him lose too).

All in all, and given the three real options they were discussing, I don't think you should be complaining mate.
