Are American Boxing Judges Corrupt or Incompetent?

The IBF isn't the commision. Do you know the difference between a commision and a sanctioning body?

 

Most are just incompetent but when they go to Germany they are both incompetent and corrupt.

Anyone knows if this is the first time any of those judges went to Germany or if is the first time they were part of a Sauerland event?

 

Neither one of the American judges has a history with Sauderland according to boxrec.

 

well the 114-114 score from the canadien is controversial since it was originally counted as 113-114 in favor of Karmazin and up to now there is no solid explanation.

also Karmazins promoter won the purse bid and despite that the fight took place in germany and Karmazin himself came up with bs excuse that you cant win on points in germany :rofl
maybe the germans gifted Karmazin the one jugde as part of the deal to make the fight happen in germany and charged the other one who was off on their own bill..

 

this is a good post, but I really think that it goes beyond America; the sport as a whole imo, needs a judging overhaul. Bad decisions seem to be as common as ever, from John McDermott's defeat to Tyson Fury, to Diaz beating Malignaggi, etc, etc.

I think that one world boxing governing body is the only answer to the problems facing the sport. It would take away the rationale of any governing body bias, and could enforce restrictions and controls over promoters.

 

I'm not sure about those particular guys, but I know that Paul Thomas, who scored Chambers/Dimitrenko a draw, has judged and officiated several fights in Germany in spite of the fact that he's English. I don't know whether the posters here are being deliberately obtuse or if they're just ****ing stupid. The fact that a judge is from a foreign country does not preclude him from having a cozy relationship with a promoter or from being bribed by said promoter.
