Because floyd would make him look silly. Not to mention there would be little money in a floyd vs berto fight. Floyd is just miles ahead in boxing ability & smarts. Berto would have no chance. Maybe berto should fight mosley now.

I wouldn't be particularly excited about it. I don't think Berto's anywhere near ready for Mayweather. I consider him the 5th/6th best Welterweight at the moment and he needs to prove himself against one of the upper echelon (Clottey, Cotto, Mosley) before getting a shot at Mayweather or Pacquiao.

He might well beat a faded Molsey but I would fancy both Clottey and Cotto to end his unbeaten run.

    It's a no from me.

Sounds good, but Berto still has a lot to learn before fighting some one on Floyds level. Berto vs Judah or Mosley sounds a lot better. A win over Judah or Mosley would look good on his resume and it would be a great test for him. This fight actually will look good for all three fighters, who ever the winner is. If Shane wins it shows he's not as shot as most people say he is, Berto wins and it shows he's ready for the next level up, and if Judah wins it shows he's still a legitiment contender.

This would never happen because Berto has no PPV draws. Money May only fights for money :smoke

Berto is too young. No one wants to fight a young fighter that fast and that strong .

:rofl:rofl:rofl Berto would do better against Floyd and he has NO chance against Mayweather, but atleast he might see the last bell.

It is a lose-lose proposition for both.

    A) Nobody thinks Berto has the skills or stamina to win the fight. He couldn't even spark out Forbes and was in an all out war with Collazo.

    B) Berto would lose his "0", belt, and marketability to a fighter who is on his way out messing up all types of long term money.

berto is nice...but i dont think anybody has the defense to avoid floyd. Floyd showed me just how fast he still is in the mosley fight....he made mosley look like molasses!

Berto has a shot at beating anybody else tho...

I was just thinking Berto vs Cotto would be a great bout for both fighters. Sets the winner up for a bout with Mayweather vs Pac winner(if they fight).

Berto wouldn't see the final round with either of this two. Mayweather by KO/TKO round 9-11. Pac by KO round 4-6.

The harder part for Mayweather in fighting Berto is how to sell it. Unless they really have no plans fighting pac sooner or later.
