Awww dammit! It HAS to be NEXT weekend? That's a promise I don't think I could keep, myself. I guess I should commend you though....if I didn't spend EVERY single Saturday night watching boxing, my female situation might be looking a little better.

Oh, I forgot to mention, we need more space. We'll be needing to move your desk down to the basement today.

Is that my stapler? I've been looking for that. Thanks.

i love going to vegas but it's just so ironic that big time boxing is hardly ever here anymore and yet i'll be in the boxing capitol and it's quiet over there. she better be paying me back big time!

there's actually a fight in sf tonight. small time fight at kezar pavillion that i'm thinking about going to. karim mayfield headlining. he fought on the undercard of ward-kessler.

    lol at the courtside comments.

before I checked where the location was I automatically assumed row A would be ringsides but they aren't.

Still should be a fantastic atmosphere. I just moved from Vegas to the Bay Area and have gone to quite a few fights in Vegas. I'll compare the atmosphere between the 2 venues though.

I'm heading in through the BART system. F paying 30 bucks for a parking spot. That's ridiculous.

welcome to the bay area. i believe bay area has hardcore fight fans where as vegas draws in a lot of casual and celebrity fans because of the big fights. when we get a fight like this in the bay area we get real excited, but i believe if this was in vegas it would probably be in the same level as a hatton-malanagi fight or paul williams-winky wright fight. where are you living in the bay area?

I've never been to Vegas myself. But that is funny ****! The irony didn't even occur to me. What a trip. And yes....payback is a must!

I heard about that fight. He's a very entertaining fighter. It's hard to say how far he will go, but he brings it every time, that's for sure. I remember seeing a few of his fights in person, including that undercard. Tony Hirsch had what was probably his best performance yet against Jose Celaya that night too. Remember that one? All entertaining fights.

    Pleasant Hill California.

I believe you are correct about the Vegas Crowd. Not a lot of locals come out to watch a boxing match because of so much other stuff going on in the city.

I am just glad to live out here in the bay area. Totally different city than Vegas when it comes to sports. You guys got Cal Bears football, SF Giants, Oakland Athletics, Oakland Raiders, SF 49ers. Vegas has UNLV. Not even close when it comes to sports.

Hopefully Andre Ward is the Goods. I've heard that Oakland and the city can rally behind a guy if he's good enough.

Pretty good atmosphere, but I doubt it's anything like Vegas, though I've never been to Vegas. Before Ward-Kessler, it had been over 40 years since Oakland last had a title fight. Just like Southern California, Northern California (mostly the bay area in particular) is jam packed with professional sports teams. Because of that, boxing is lower on the totum pole than it might be otherwise around here, similar to college sports as well.

Be safe in Oakland. If I remember correctly, the BART station is a short walk over the freeway from the arena....something like that (only took BART there once, for an A's game). Hope you enjoy!

    I'm hoping too as well.

There could be a possible conflictin in schedule as my job says they can change scedule from week to week.

I'm crossing my fingers that I still have this Saturday off.

The Andre Ward insiders have known he is the goods for quite some time. Oakland can definitely rally behind that kind of talent, but will turn like a pit bull on someone who doesn't come real.

I'm also a bit worried about the Oakland Raiders Crowd type of atmostphere.

Rest assured that that is only present in Raider games. There will be thousands of classy boxing fans (some of them Raider fans, nearly as many of them Raider haters) there. Many are very knowledged in boxing. The general attitude will be one similar to a 10,000 member family, that happens to all like boxing.
