Can anyone tell me about Corrie Sanders

he's a better then average skill wise big man whose never really showed the type of ambission to be more then a journey man. Vitali spanked him in a pretty good fight a couple of years back and he hasn't really tried to get back into the picture. Owns a ranch in south africa, is a wicked golfer and is a pretty decent guy outside the ring. And wlad has never sought a rematch because corrie hasn't done anything since losing to vitali.

 

he is a golf pro with power....since vitali, sanders is actually 3-0 (2 ko) with his last fight only a month and half ago....hopefully wlad works on cleaning up the division and not giving 41 year olds title shots....although what can you say about age now with Evander and McCall lurking....maybe they will meet up for the rematch in 2010.

 

yes, he's a golf pro. I know. and yes he's fought three bumbs in three years since losing to vitali. This is what I define as doing nothing. Sorry if I didn't check boxrec to be specific about just what kind of nothing he's been up to.


But your right. the sad part is it wouldn't take much for him to get back in the picture.

 

i dont know if hes a threat to the heavyweight title but hes a pretty dangerous fighter if you ask me,

he is one of those fighters that will knock you out in the first four rounds if your not careful.

but

unlike the typical 4 round bombers.... his punches a straight so its hard counter, you usually have to wait out a storm like rahman or vitali

as a south paw he has these quick hands and heavy left hand

one the quickest handed fighters that i have seen in past few years for a heavy weight

but conditioning need work for him to be a real threat to contention, it was a factor against his losses to rahman and vitali.

he probabley has the fastest hands in the hw division in the past 30 years or so, he is a south paw and has crippling power and is also very altheltic and skilled. he was avoided by most fighters in the 90s. his draw back is his ability to get into shape. a waste a o championship talent. even at his advanced age he could still beat any hw out there and clean out the hw division if he ever really got himself into shape and stayed into shape.

 

One of those nobody fights did have this though....

Sanders had deceivingly fast hands. Don't judge on physique. His hands were very quick, plus he was a counter puncher and a southpaw. Honestly, Haye vs Sanders would have only one winner and that's Sanders. Wlad vs Sanders... Wlad could win if he'd fight VERY disciplined. Otherwise... it would be that fight all over again.

You only have to look at Wlad vs Sanders and Vitali vs Sanders to see that while Wlad has acomplished more, Vitali has always been the better fighter and still is. He'd beat Wladimir right now still. Because Wlad, while a great boxer, a great tactician, a power puncher, he can't handle big time pressure cookers with hard chin. And Vitali would easily neutralise that jab, he'd "paw over it".
