Clottey is a ***** and embarrassment to Ghana. He is no where near the richest if he went back to ghana. I hope he got out of that **** apartment he was living in with his girl. Punk ass Clottey took one for the team plain and simple.

To be far to him he's always had a low workrate and that's something that would hurt him especially facing high workrate fighters like Manny "The Energizer Bunny" Pacquiao. He did nothing out of character and couldn't mount the offense to truly claim himself as victorious.

 

this thread has softened my stance somewhat on clottey but he claims he a warrior, claims he has been robbed in every other loss, gets opportunity after opportunity and big fight after big fight after doing really nothing to earn it. he loses to cotto, whines endlessly about it and follows it up with the biggest fight of his life against the biggest fighter in the world and does what? jack ****. fighters wait lifetimes for chances like that and this whiny ****er wastes it.

Clottey didn't show he was a warrior that night. Mosley atleast tried and went home with a swollen face, a busted nose, and PRIDE, Clottey went home with shame.

 

Why Kirk?

I would rather see Berto fight Cotto or Margarito.
I would rather see Margarito rematch Martinez, Cotto, or Williams.
I would rather see Cintron rematch, Martinez, Williams, or fight Cotto.

All those fights would be better for boxing, and more entertaining than any fight with Clottey.

**** Joshau Clottey. He punked-out against a headbutted Cotto(was it the second round?) and pussed-out against the much smaller Paq. To put Clottey's name next to Mosely's is a disgrace to all true warriors.

Clottey is a poor man's Oba Carr.

The only way that I will watch another Clottey fight is if he is pitted against Cintron...The Circus of the Clowns.

 

Clottey effort in that Pacman fight was almost shameful. Clottey didn't try to make a fight of it. If Clottey would have just given more ability in that fight he would had chance to make a good fight out of it.

 

Bingo. And it's usually Pac fans who disagree with this. Because for some reason Mosley has been brought into this thread numerous times. Clottey was happy for the paycheck. I hope he never gets put in with another elite fighter or close to it. It'd be a waste of that fighter's time.

 

Why not? Clottey's as good as any other welterweight outside Pacquiao and Mayweather. And just because he didn't do so well against Pacquiao doesn't change the fact that he was entertaining in previous fights. Against Cotto I certainly thought he did enough to win. Against Margarito he comfortably won the first four rounds before injuring his hand. I put Joshua Clottey on the same level as Cotto, if not higher and think he would be a big test for Berto. I'd be quite confident of him beating Berto, Cotto and Margarito actually but whether he'll get those fights is another question.
