Joshua Clottey's style isn't boring. He's an accurate counter puncher with a solid defense who usually gets the better of his opponent with more effective punching.

People talk about him having never taken his chances but what chances are they apart from Pacquiao? If anyone watched his fight with Margarito he was schooling Margarito for four rounds and then injured his arm. He then remained competitive the rest of the fight, losing a close decision. He beat Cotto according to the vast majority of people that watched the fight. He also dominated Zab Judah.

The Baldomir fight that took place in 1999 in what I assume was supposed to be an easy run out for Baldomir as Clottey was undefeated but hadn't beaten anyone of note. In fact the records of the fighters he fought appear to be very poor prior to that point and Baldomir was a huge step up. I've never seen the fight myself but he was ahead on all three scorecards when he was DQ'd in the 11th round and after that he couldn't get a title fight until 2007 against Margo. Had he beaten Baldomir his career could have been so very different.

I don't think it's smart for anyone to fight Joshua Clottey because he's so dangerous and people can avoid him because of the losses on his record but for me he honestly beats Cotto, Mosley and Berto and if he fails to land another meaningful fight he will go down for me as a very seriously underrated fighter.

clottey should of been disqualified against baldomir. if a football player only has to make 2 tough tackles and get sent off. clottey lead with his right hand and kept slamming heads with baldo. baldo i dont think has any quams about that. but still 4 heavy headbutts even though unintentional should get you dissmissed.

his style is based on accuracy in the pocket. against pacman he was landing some hard shots to the body and landed some peaches in uppercuts.

I stayed up to 5am to watch that shite, throw in Jones vs Hopkins and Williams vs Cintron and it's been a bad year for staying up late to watch boxing.
