Ok, we know Ward was originally slated to face Jermain Taylor.

I think it's fair to say Ward would likely have beaten Taylor (feel free to post it if you feel differently)...though I think Taylor would have been more of a live dog than Green tonight.

The real question is...would Ward have T/KO'd Taylor?

Today's version of Taylor would of put up a MUCH MUCH better effort against Ward today than Allan Queen did.

Ward is the perfect style for a guy like Taylor. I still think Ward would've taken it but been in a tough scrap.

So you think it goes to decision? Or do you think he puts up a good fight and gets KO'd anyways.

Probably would get KO'd late but atleast he would win some rounds.

Yeh, I think I agree with that. That was such a sad performance by Green.

I think Taylor's sometimes frenetic offensive style (AA fight aside) would do better than whatever Green was doing out there tonight.

    Ward is levels above Taylor.

That he is. Now...if you read my post...does he KO Taylor or just take it to a decision?

Ward is the type of fighter Taylor can do well against. Its a shame Taylor`s fight with Abraham ended in a KO because if he had lost on points Taylor would probably have carried on in the comp.Although past his best he could have done well against both Dirrel and Ward,he was a mile in front against Froch before getting caught at the end and i would have picked him to win a rematch.I think Taylor would be the hardest fight for Ward and one he would lose.

There's no way Ward can lose to Taylor, other than by a lucky punch. Taylor was outboxed by AA, Ward is on another level to AA.
Sure... Taylor would probably make the distance... but it's nothing that we don't know already, that Ward doesn't have the punch.. or better said, Ward doesn't have the will to get you out of there. But that makes Ward more impressive. He can school boxers without power. And when you do that, sky is the limit.

I think it'd go to a decision where Ward dominated, but not as much of a one sided humiliation like tonight was.

Disagree, prolly Ward by decision but not by KO since JT doesn't get KOed by black fighters.

I fancy Ward winning easy, but Taylor wins a couple of rounds, and probably a couple of swing rounds here and there.
