Was the Referee wrong to let Ward fight the way he did against Green?

That's called inside fighting, and it wasn't really holding and hitting, it's called punching in a clinch.. when both guys have a free hand.. they can hit.. and the ref let them fight out of a clinch.. which is a good thing, better the constant "break!".

This is EXACTLY THE ****ING REASON BOXING WON'T BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

The fans of the support are their own worst enemy.

We want to destroy our stars, we tear them all down.. be it Floyd, Manny, Ward, whoever.. the fans tear them down.

Horrible, it's no wonder UFC get's more press.. they actually have fans who hype the fighters.

Listen, the ref didn't jump in because they both were busy fighting on the inside. He was not holding and hitting he simply just walked him to the ropes and went old school on his ass!

    It was LEGAL infighting.

Hell Green was actually holding more then Ward was.

So far more people on here feel Ward was fighting dirty, I seem to recall Ward holding and hitting, pushing in with his head, pushing Greens face with his head and gloves, and excessive leaning on the other fighter, something which J Cortez was rightfully strict about with Hatton

Ward is very dirty and also boring. Not even the fun kind of dirty.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt this time and i can honestly say i wont be tuning in to watch his next fight live.
Its all just clinching holding or pot shotting.

I really hope Abraham fights him and lands a big shot on him. Thats all it should take.

Also why are all his fights in the US???
Sounds like someone got a lil favoritism.

Sorry dope. There is nothing illegal about leaning on the other guy, putting your head on his chest or anything else. And as long as fighters are working the clinch its legal aswell.

Hatton was warned because he doesnt throw punches in the clinch, he grabs the other guy and bullies him to the ropes. That is not what Ward does.

Ward is far technically superior to Hatton, to even mention them in the same league is a travesty,

Have you ever boxed? Because if you have you would know that it was clean in fighting. I bet every boxer or trainer that watched that fight was yelling at the tv for Green to spin Ward around and bang on his ass! Even Tarver said that at one point during the fight.

He was fighting dirty. Smothering him was smart due to Green's power that could have changed everything. I was also a boxer and I still call that fighting dirty. Green was not complaining and should have thrown uppercuts, jabs, hooks, anything? It is funny when posters don't agree with one poster then you have never boxed or have no idea what boxing is about.

Ward is holding, rubbing his forehead constantly into greens face...It´s okay to FIGHT on the inside, but to stay on the ropes, clinching, holding, rubbing heads WITHOUT the referee breaking it up is unbeliveble!! Almost the entire "fight" was like that!! Fightfans wants a FIGHT... not that ****!!
I dont know what the hell the referees in the last to ward fights are thinking of???
I hate to say it,but i think Ward are having hometurf advantage he should not have in a major tournment like the super six...

I see where your going with this, but okay he didn't spin him off like he should have. Now, the ref can still warn Ward for the open glove and the excessive head to the chest. I have to agree that this was in-fighting, but come on, he used his head ass a weapon to smother Green's activity.

The referee should have broken them up more, no question.

And that's why you're on this forum instead of making millions of dollars.
