As someone living in Britain for a long time I have to step in. Is Hopkins a boring fighter? I'd say so. Is he likely to lose against JC in a fight right now? Most likely.

But **** me, how can he and his achievements be disrespected by British fans? The guy is 43 years olds and still fights top level opposition. He has fought some exceptional fighters and has never been scared of anyone. In terms of being in with high quality opposition, JC has quite a way to go before he can compare himself to Hopkins. Show some ****ing respect to a great champion, still fighting at top level and in great shape at such an advanced age.

I do believe this fight will be made, seems like both guys want it.

Trinidad is superior at MW to JC at SMW?

Tarver? Goddamn, how about those two close ones to Glen Johnson?

Winky is superior at SMW as JC is at SMW?

    Hmm. Doesn't add up.

to be completely honest not only do i think that hopkins would lose badly to calzaghe, i also think he would get KOd against kessler who could easily move up, i think that there are better fights out there for joe, this will beef out his resume and it will be interesting to see how many punches hopkins can take, on points 120 - 110 to calzghe, this would b a repeat of the jones jr fight only, hopkins would take much more of a beating because he is not a patch on the fighter who fought back then.

Defensively, Winky is (was?) very good. But he's a 154 lber who has never won a fight above 160.

Offensively, Trinidad is (was?) very good. But at 147 and 154. He has only two wins at 160, one good win against Joppy and one against welterweight Mayorga.

At 168 or 175, both these guys lose to Calzaghe.

Tarver? Famous in the same way as Buster Douglas or Haseem Rahman.

Not to be mentioned in the same breath as Calzaghe.

Don't even ****ing bother with Rumsfeld.

He just puts :smoke at the end of everything, and believes that covers up a complete and utter lack of a valid argument.

Yeah, Trinidad, a man who wasn't really a middleweight, is better than an undefeated, 10 year super middle champ.

Tarver. Oh yeah, makes his name from an eyes shut punch, and has struggled since. A comparison to Rahman as a HW is more than fair.

Looked like complete and utter **** against Hopkins.

Winky. Fighting at 170. A HIGHER weight class than Calzaghe fights in. Winky, (who couldn't beat a middleweight champ derided as being ****).
Winky, fighting 16 pounds above his best weight.

That's like Calzaghe fighting a welterweight for ****s sake. That's like Calzaghe beating Mosley, and everybody proclaiming it as a ****ing great win.

Seriously, I cannot believe how easily people get the wool pulled over their eyes.

Was Hopkins a great fighter. Yes.

Is he now? Don't know. He's fought a weight drained Tarver (come on, you all know he looked like **** that fight, who is almost 40 himself), and fat, sluggish Wright.

Hopkins is in NO hurry to fight any live, light heavy challenges.

Briggs, Adamek, Dawson, hell, any youngish guy that can crack and fight 3 minutes a round for 12 rounds would cause Hopkins trouble PURELY because Hopkins is what, 43 now?

Why does Hopkins automatically start bitching that 'I WON'T GO OVER THERE......I WON'T GO OVER THERE!!!!!' Hmmmm...so much for the Executioner!!! If JC came out saying 'I won't go to America' he'd get slaughtered for it in these boards.

At this point, both have mismatch written all over them.
