Good breakdown by a Pac fan, I respect that. However, I think Manny's problem will be containing himself. Sometimes when he gets hit, he goes berzerk and off Freddie's leach. Thats what makes his style so exiting, however, if that happens he will get tagged even worse. Also, Floyd's reach advantage will be a huge problem for Pac.
Marquez is a lot slower then Floyd and a lot easier to hit. Imagine getting hit by a person and you can't hit them as often as they're hitting you. This is when the fustration starts to kick in. In the Clottey fight there was nothing for Pac to get fustrated about. Clottey was not throwing anything and Pac was beating him every round. What is there to be mad about? If he wanted to fight a guy who was willing to bang with him, then he would not have choose Clottey to fight.
I have watched every MP fight on HBO/PPV from his KO of Barrera in 2003 on. I argue he is the sum of all his parts and is the one fighter I can say that he fought the best to become the best. It all makes sense that Manny fought Erick Morales and Barrera 5 different times. You are talking about two of the most incredible warriors and talented fighters in that division. Flash to him as an underdog against Oscar and till now he is not just winning he is annihilating the best of the best. All because he took the risk of facing horribly dangerous fighters to improve his chin, defense, angles etc. His steady improvement totally contradicts any claims of PHD use in my mind. Maybe the Mayweather's are using PHD's as something to describe the chemistry of Manny and Roach. How could Floyd even train to fight him ? Who can even come close to preparing him in sparring? He is a fighter who comes once in a century. His speed, angles, vicious combination assault, timing, ring smarts, chemistry and maybe the best right hook ever are the gifts of his experience and work effort. His overall form now makes him too much of a force for any fighter 147 and below to stop him. An opponent who throws one at a time regardless of defensive skills would not be humanly possible to defend against all his punches and angles or even prepare for them. PBF did not even face guys like Kosta Tzu who could test his chin. There is no way in hell you will see Floyd walk into a ring to face Manny.
Clear edge to Mayweather. Probably the best defensive boxer currently active. Floyd again. Very slight edge in speed and slightly more edge in timing Edge Floyd. No. Pac has the edge here. Slight but clear. Floyd has the edge here. Again, Floyd edge. Even. Pac will land more on Floyd than any previous fighter. Floyd has the edge in most areas. (You didn't mention power where Pac has an edge.) On paper, this should be an easy prediction. Floyd is the most talented boxer currently fighting and one of the most talented ever. However, his edge in all of the foregoing is very slight. And Pac holds one important equalizer, his mental game. Floyd, for whatever reason, fears Pac. That is evident to all but the most biased of Floyd's fans. Any sane analysis of the drug testing controversy and the fact that it was even brought up, indicates a nervousness in Floyd (and his relatives) over his prospects against Pac. If Pac can continue to get inside Floyd's head, then this will be more of a factor as the fight approaches. I won't make a prediction or analysis till I know the thing is going to happen. Other than to say that Pac will at the very minimum, be a very live underdog.
I agree on all points, but most especially on the "fear" aspect. When some people claim boxers are fighters and fighters fight and therefore do not fear another fighter, that's total bull****. Whether it's the fear of losing, or fear of getting really hurt by Pacquiao, Floyd reeks of fear. He's been sending out negative vibes, from jealousy of Pacquiao's widespread acceptance to this fear.
fear has nothing to do wtih it...im pretty sure he was also a little fearful of Mosley but yet fought right in the pocket comming forward....so im not sure fear IF there is any would help Pac too much.
Floyds just too crafty to smart for Pac and has too many tools at his dispense, can fight in the pocket, on the back foot, coming forward..u name it he can do it. Pac just isnt that versatile...Pac is great...Floyd is better!
For clarification, I meant fear of losing. I'm well aware that boxers at that level don't 'fear' each other in the way a guy on the street fears getting a beating. But fear is fear, nonetheless, and Floyd fears Pac.
It is my opinion that when two boxers enter a boxing ring and both are at 100%. That there is one and only one posible result. (This goes for any sport). In this case Mayweather would win. Pacquiao's only real advantages is that he may be a little bit faster than Mayweather and he has more power. However Mayweather's advantages should be able to counter any advantage that Pacquiao would have. Mayweather might be faster than Pacquiao. Like his speed Mayweather's power is dectepitive. He is also bigger than Pacquiao and should be able to counter him comming in. This brings me to the other reason Mayweather will win. Lets just say that the worst things to happen to oppoents of Mayweather are The first Casitilo fight and round 2 of the Mosley fight. Why would you attack a counter puncher? While he can fight well in any style. mayweather is at his best as a counter puncher. Counter punchers are at their best when there opoents come to them attacking. This means that Pacquiao is going to use the same failed game plan that everyone uses against Mayweather. He is going to presure him. Press the atack try to fight for all 36 minuets. This has not worked for anyone and it is not going to work for anyone including Pacquiao. No it did not work for Casitilo either the Judges got that one right. Every one talks about Pacquiao's stanama. It is outstanding. My opinion is that Mayweather's is better. Mayweather also has a way of making his foe work more than they want to. Mayweather by either clear decision 9-3 to 12-0, or a late round 10, 11 or 12 stoppage.
I disagree about the speed. Pacquiao is faster then Floyd in hands and feet. Just watch Floyd / Mosley and compare that to Pacquiao Clottey. Pac is also younger than Floyd Floyd holds the edge in size, reach, strength... however this has been the case in many of Pac's recent fights. What's on paper doesn't always tell the full story. In the end styles make fights, and Pac's definitely got a style to really give Floyd trouble. As I said before, Floyd has to fight a very, very active smart fight. He's gonna have to be there with Pacquiao the whole way., because unlike May's previous opponents, Pac isn't going to stand around and flinch all night. Pac's going to be constantly active, moving, circling, feinting, and coming in with singles, and combinations. Floyd's gotta be a counter punching machine and fight a very smart active fight, that's the key. The problem is I haven't seen him fight actively in a long time. He doesn't let his hands go very much these days and he's very cagey. This makes me favor Pacquiao in the fight.
i think it will be pacquiao's high volume of punches will be the key to this fight.. as long as there will be no often clinching on mayweahter's part,. pac can win in UD and possibly +KD in the early rounds,.. lets just wait if the fight really happens..hope so.. im a pac fan,, and its ok for me if pac will lose this one as long as the fight happens.. the fans want it!!we all want to see it!:bbb
It's easier to look fast against a plodding Clottey compared to Mosley who has fast hands himself. This content is protected
